Kesha Has Been Offered ‘Freedom’ If She Say The Rape Was A Lie
Kesha has been stuck in a legal battle with Sony for over a year as she tried to get out of her contract. Kesha claims that the Sony producer, Dr. Luke aka Lukasz Gottwald, physically abused her and raped her for years. The contract that Kesha signed with Sony prevents Kesha from creating music with any other producers.
According to BuzzFeed Kesha has made claims that she has been offered a way out of her contract; all she would have to do is state that she lied and offer a public apology. Kesha took to Instagram to let the world know and express the fact that she was not going to lie and pretend this never happened to her.
“So. I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors. I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again.”
Dr. Luke has denied Kesha’s allegations of abuse and rape. Dr. Luke’s team argue that the claims were concocted by Kesha as a way out of her current contract to give her the freedom to sign a more lucrative deal. Kesha first filed a complaint against Dr. Luke in 2014. The complaint stated that Dr. Luke had “sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally abused” her.

Kesha filed an injunction that would allow her to work with other producers, but in February, Judge Shirley Kornreich denied Kesha’s request. Judge Kornreich ruled that releasing the singer from the contract under Sony would cause irreparable damage to the record labels involved. Sony also pledged to allow Kesha to work with other producers. Kesha’s legal team states that, even though Sony would let her work with other producers, they would not promote her music to have the same level of success. On March 20, Kesha appealed the judge’s decision, arguing that continuing her contact under Dr. Luke was tantamount to slavery.
Dr. Luke remained silent regarding the allegation until February when the injunction was denied. Dr. Luke took the twitter and expressed how he felt about the entire situation.
“Until now I haven’t commented on the lawsuits, which should be resolved in court not here on Twitter. It’s a shame that there’s so much speculation out there basing itself on so little information. The only truly objective person who knows the facts is the judge. The judge did not rule in Kesha’s favor on Friday. I understand why people without all the information are speaking out. I can appreciate their compassion. But lives can get ruined when there’s a rush to judgment before all the facts come out.”
Dr. Luke continued his twitter rant by letting the world know that he has never raped or had any sort of sexual relation with Kesha.
“I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister.”

Kesha has gained a lot of support from her fellow celebrities in this issue. Many celebrities have used social media to express the need for Sony to free Kesha from her contract. Kesha’s claim at this offer would definitely add more fuel to the fire that has been burning since October of 2014.
Kesha’s finances have taken a big hit from the lawsuit, but she is determined to move forward.
