‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ Secrets Exposed, Producers Feed Lines, Create Drama For Troubled Franchise
There has always been a fine line between true reality and scripted drama in Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise. However, while The Real Housewives of New Jersey films for its upcoming season, producers went to extremes to make sure the drama kept flowing. How far did producers go to create drama for the troubled franchise?
An inside source recently dished to Radar Online that producers actively manipulated scenes and shots in order to emphasize drama. In fact, they even shot some scenes more than once, depending on how satisfied they were with the outcome.
This includes Melissa Gorga’s fashion show that was filmed as part of the new season. Producers not only messed around with positioning, but they also filmed entrances multiple times.“On several occasions, they rearranged the women so that the camera guys could capture the shot that they wanted,” the insider explained. “They moved the women around in the frame like they were pieces on a checker board. While Dolores and Siggy Flicker showed up, they had to do two takes because the directors weren’t happy with the first one.”
In addition to the scene manipulations, the source went on to reveal that producers installed hidden mics in order to catch anything that happened outside of camera angles. Furthermore, some of the cast members were even directed what to say in certain situations. While they didn’t follow a narrative line for line, this is about as close as it gets to a scripted series.
“One of the production crew whispered something into Dolores Catania’s ear just before she got on set. I am pretty sure he was feeding her lines,” the insider shared. “I was shocked by how much effort the crew put into molding a scene to be exactly the way they wanted it to be.”
According to Radar Online, the drama in the upcoming season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, is expected to focus on Teresa Giudice’s beef with Kathy Wakile. Apparently, things have gotten so bad between the two reality stars that Giudice is refusing to work with Wakile.
“Teresa absolutely refuses to film with Kathy. She hates Kathy. After Kathy called her father a coward and her mother a liar, she never forgave her for that,” a source told the outlet. At the same time, Giudice is attempting to repair her public image. With the help from producers, who are trying their best to cast women who will be friendly to Giudice, the reality star wants to leave her evil days behind.
Meanwhile, The Hollywood Gossip is reporting that former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub is getting ready to tell all in a new memoir. Although Staub has an interesting past, which includes working as a stripper and creating a sex tape, she is expected to write most about her experiences on reality TV.
“I’m breaking my silence,” Staub recently revealed. “And writing my tell-all including the ‘Reality of #RHONJ’ the impact on mine and my family’s life’s @Andy @bravotv.”As fans will recall, Staub’s time on the reality series was marked by her famous table flipping fight with Giudice. Staub and Jacqueline Laurita were friends when Staub was first introduced on the show, though her constant squabbles with the other cast members made for an early exit.
“I’m way too good for this,” Staub said after announcing her departure. “They have used me about as much as I can be used.”
Exactly what details Staub will reveal in her memoir are unknown. Considering the recent revelations about the series, fans can brace themselves for more of the same.
