Christina Aguilera Fired From ‘The Voice,’ Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Feud To Blame?
Christina Aguilera will not be included in the upcoming 11th season of The Voice on NBC.
Although Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani have been alternating coaching roles on the series for the past four seasons, they will be replaced by Miley Cyrus when the show returns. And while Stefani is currently appearing as a mentor during The Voice Season 10, it is unclear whether or not that role will continue during the show’s fall installment.
When the show returns, the coaches included on the panel will be returning cast members Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and new addition Cyrus, along with Alicia Keys, who will also be seen in a coaching role for the first time.

“It seems a little strange after all of the drama Christina Aguilera created just to come back to The Voice, she would leave on her own accord after one season,” Celeb Dirty Laundry reported on March 31. “General consensus among Voice fans is that Christina was fired because of her constant problems with Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, or ‘pushed out’ by veteran star Shelton.”
Christina Aguilera was reportedly in jeopardy of losing her role to Stefani following the debut of Stefani’s romance with Shelton during Season 9. However, when The Voice returned for Season 10, so did Christina Aguilera. That said, Stefani returned as well, even though it wasn’t her turn to coach; she appeared as an advisor for Team Shelton.
“Another possibility is that Christina Aguilera gave TPTB at the show an ultimatum, either Gwen goes or she goes,” Celeb Dirty Laundry continued. “They decided to keep Gwen on as an advisor for Blake Shelton’s team, so Christina Aguilera made good on her promise and walked.”

Christina Aguilera has been rumored to be feuding with Stefani for years, so once Stefani began dating Shelton, their feud was allegedly taken to new heights. Then, after it was reported that Stefani and Shelton had received a raise due to their on-camera love fest, Christina Aguilera was rumored to have become furious on set.
“Blake and Gwen are getting an interesting offer from the show’s execs,” a source told Radar Online last month. “Producers want the two of them to give fans a full-on love-fest this season when she is a mentor on Team Blake, and they are going to throw in huge bonuses for exclusives, such as on-air duets, engagements, etc.”
“[Christina Aguilera] is furious!” the source continued. “Christina wants Gwen out of the picture and is already throwing mini-tantrums about it. She said that Gwen is ‘not vocally talented’ and would not be on the show at all anymore if it was not for her relationship with Blake.”
As Christina Aguilera reportedly engaged in major diva moments on the set of The Voice, Blake Shelton has allegedly remained unconcerned and is instead doing his best not to feed into the drama.
“Blake really does not care what [Christina Aguilera] does or says,” the insider said. “He is a completely different person now because of Gwen, so much more laid-back. He said that he’s grateful the show is the reason that he and Gwen found each other.”
Christina Aguilera has yet to comment on news of her exit from the show, and Stefani has remained silent as well.
