‘The Bachelor’ Star Ben Higgins ‘Devastated’ Over Lauren Bushnell’s Dark Past, Couple On The Verge Of A Split?
On the latest season of The Bachelor, fans watched as Lauren Bushnell stole Ben Higgins’ heart from the competition with her girl-next-door appearance. But did Lauren use this image to hide her dark past from Higgins, who eventually ended up giving her an engagement ring? A new report claims Higgins will be devastated by the discovery.
It was previously reported that a source revealed to In Touch Weekly that “Lauren isn’t the girl Ben thinks she is… She’s really been playing up the wholesome girl-next-door thing on the show, but Lauren has things in her past that she’s not proud of, and she’s keeping it from Ben.”
An insider close to Lauren’s ex-boyfriend, Sean Evans, also shared some of what her dark past looked like.
“When Lauren was with Sean, she would lay by the pool every day taking shots and downing mixed drinks. Then she’d continue to drink all night.”
Apparently, the partying and drinking got out of control one night in April 2015, when she was arrested for public intoxication at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio, California.
“It was embarrassing to be around her when she was drunk because she’d turn into a mess,” the insider added. “She’d have these drunken crying fits in public places — she’s way too emotional.”
According to OK! Magazine, the source also painted Lauren as a “super needy and very obsessive” person whose goal in life is to be the “perfect housewife,” adding that she’s “never had any desire to be successful or have a thriving career.”
The insider claims that when Ben Higgins finds out about Lauren’s dark past, he will be “devastated,” especially considering his fear that some of the women on the show weren’t always being open and honest with him.
However, whether or not Lauren has discussed her past with Higgins remains a mystery, but she was open and honest during an interview with ET about watching Higgins kissing the other women and telling runner-up JoJo Fletcher that he loves her on the show.
“It’s not fun to watch your fiancé kissing other women, but it’s also something that happened in the past,” Lauren admitted about watching past episodes.
Nevertheless, wedding plans for the future have already started being made despite the proposition by the show’s host, Chris Harrison, for the newly engaged couple to tie the knot during After the Final Rose.
“I was completely surprised. I did not expect that at all,” Lauren said, adding that while she would be open to marrying Ben any day, she wants to do it the traditional way. “First of all, I want to go on a date with Ben. There’s so many things to do with him before actually saying ‘I do.’ I want to try on dresses, I want to do some of the more traditional things.”
She did, however, admit that the on-the-spot proposition was tempting.
“For me, as much as I want to marry Ben tomorrow, I would also like a big celebration planned with my family, with my friends. So I don’t think I really thought too much into it, although it was kind of tempting,” Lauren added.
While Latin Post states that there currently isn’t any date set in stone, the lovebirds have started mulling it over.
“We talked this morning on the plane, I would love to do 2016, early 2017,” Higgins said. “I don’t want to rush is to the point where it’s stressful, but I also don’t want to wait too long.”
Lauren also added that she is excited to start the planning process and that they are open to having the wedding televised. Higgins said that since the fans of the show have been watching since day one of The Bachelor and have continued their support, he explained that if it’s best for him and Lauren, he would like to share the special moment with them.
