A 20-year-old model and university student, Gulay Bursali, jumped to her death from the 10th floor of an apartment building to avoid being gang-raped, according to the Daily Mail . Early last month, Bursali and her boyfriend, who is only being identified as Engin O., made plans to go on vacation in Basaksehir.
However, before their arrival, they contacted a real estate agent, whose name is being withheld, to help find a vacant apartment to rent for the weekend. It was reported that the real estate agent was able to find an apartment in a “district located on the European side of Istanbul.”

The Turkish couple were later handed the keys to their temporary housing, and in lieu of spending their vacation time in the apartment, they went to a local bar with friends. When they returned in the early hours of March 21, they came across the real estate agent, who “claimed he wanted to get some things from the apartment,” according to the Mirror .
Without hesitation, Bursali and her boyfriend allowed the real estate agent, who was accompanied by one of his male friends, to come inside the apartment and collect his belongings. But to their astonishment, they were attacked moments after closing the front door behind them.
According to Bursali’s boyfriend, Engin O., he was beaten by the real estate agent and his friend before his phone was taken, and he was locked inside one of the rooms in the apartment.

The guys then turned their attention towards the model and university student, who they locked inside another room in the apartment – with them inside. While the two men and the university student were locked inside of the room, Bursali was stripped naked and was reportedly on the brink of being gang-raped.
When Bursali realized what was about to transpire, she began to panic. Therefore, when she got the chance to open the bedroom window, sources say that she did so and stood on the ledge. She then threatened the two men to let her go or she would jump from the 10th floor to her death.
As Bursali stood outside of the window from the 10th floor of an apartment building, a man, who watched helplessly as the model threatened her attackers that she would jump to her death if they wouldn’t let her go, stated the following.
“I heard somebody screaming ‘help,’ and I thought maybe it was just someone messing around. Then I saw a naked girl hanging out of the window.”
“She was yelling, ‘don’t pull me inside; if you try to pull me inside, I will jump.’ Those inside were shouting at her to come inside, saying they were going to call the police.
“But she wasn’t interested, I heard her threaten them two more times to say that she would jump, and was calling for somebody to help.”

“I didn’t say anything, I felt if she moved even a bit she was going to fall and that was why I didn’t say anything. I just called the police. While I was doing that, she jumped.”
After the young woman jumped from the 10th floor to her death, emergency services arrived at the scene, but it was too late. It was reported that the 20-year-old model and university student, Gulay Bursali, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her boyfriend was later freed from the apartment bedroom, and he was taken to the precinct for questioning. He has since been released, but sources say the real estate agent and his friend, who attacked the Turkish couple, fled the scene before the police arrived.
Investigators are now on a manhunt to search for the suspects in question.
