According to the Duck Commander website, the Ducky Dynasty star-turned-Fox News podcast commentator is the CEO of the business and the only family member who has a business degree. Willie Robertson is credited with moving the hunting goods company “from a living room operation, down by the river, to a premiere destination for all things outdoors.”
Robertson said he began developing his sales skills as a young boy, who went to the market with his mom to sell their freshly caught fish.
“Being a redneck millionaire has its perks,” Willie said.
Those perks include “[b]uying new trucks, gadgets, and swanky suits – he also admits that working with kin can be a headache,” the company website says.
Robertson launched Buck Commander in 2006. He traveled around the country hunting for white-tail deer and created a hunting camp for Buckmen series of DVDs and the television show Buck Commander: Protected by Under Armour, which airs on the Outdoor Channel. He is also the executive producers for both the new television series and Duck Dynasty.
Here’s an excerpt from the Duck Commander Willie Robertson bio page.
“[He] exudes a passion for inspiring future hunters by showing the outdoor lifestyle and hunting experience in a fun and entertaining way. His unique perspective helps the two TV shows, DVDs and other products stand out in the crowd. While the Robertsons’ story is a great example of entrepreneurship and following your passion, it’s also about love, faith and putting family first.”
