WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon And Triple H Argue Over Who Should Be Called Up Next From NXT
This past week on Monday Night Raw, the Total Divas team got a fifth member to take on the team B.A.D. & Blonde at WrestleMania 32. It was rather unexpected and no one thought it would be Eva Marie getting the call-up from NXT, but it certainly was. If Vince McMahon had his way though and not Triple H, it would have been a different Diva heading to the WWE main roster as he felt Bayley was next in line.
Yes, McMahon wanted the NXT Women’s Champion to debut on Raw this past Monday and team up with Natalya, Alicia Fox, Paige, and Brie Bella. Instead, it was Eva Marie getting the call from Triple H and appearing back on the main roster to even out the two teams.
She joins the Total Divas to take on the team of Lana, Naomi, Emma, Summer Rae, and Tamina. The two teams will face off on the Kickoff Show of WrestleMania 32, but it is interesting to see the differing opinions between the two top men in WWE.
According to PW Mania, it was Triple H’s call to bring Eva Marie to the defense of the babyface team on Raw. This is even when Vince McMahon showed his true interest in Bayley and stated that he wanted her to take the final spot on the fan favorite Divas team.Triple H was dead set against this idea and insisted that it be Eva Marie joining the WWE main roster and the Total Divas team. He explained it to Vince McMahon in a way that made sense as Bayley joining the team of Divas from the WWE reality show made very little sense.
To hammer his point home, Triple H pointed out that Bayley is more a part of the “wrestling” division, and not the Divas division. This is a very interesting thing to note considering that a complete overhaul of the division is expected by next week.
Not only is the Divas Championship going away and the Women’s Championship returning, but the division will be rebranded entirely as well. That being said, it will be interesting to see how long it is until Bayley actually does hit the main roster.
She’s set to defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Asuka at NXT Takeover: Dallas on Friday night. If fans ever wanted a great and technical women’s wrestling match, then that will be one to watch.
As for Eva Marie, it was blatantly obvious that her appearing on Monday Night Raw wasn’t met well by really anyone. The Wrestling Observer reported that WWE really expected Eva Marie to get a much better reaction from the Brooklyn crowd than she has gotten in NXT. That was not the case at all as she was pretty much booed out of the building and met with a horrible reaction.
Combine that with Natalya and others looking at her quite skeptical in the ring and then Brie Bella saying after Raw that she doesn’t even trust Eva Marie. That has led to rumors that there will be a heel turn by the fiery redhead at WrestleMania 32 and she will betray her teammates.
If that happens, it won’t be seen by as many people since the big Divas tag team match is on the Kickoff Show, but it would make sense.
Triple H wanted Eva Marie to join the WWE main roster and partner with the babyface Divas at WrestleMania 32. Vince McMahon thought it was time for Bayley to move up from NXT. With NXT being Triple H’s baby and his valid arguments, it looks like he won this time. Don’t be surprised to see Bayley in the big leagues soon though.
