Kyrie Irving Opens Up About Kehlani’s Suicide Attempt, Blames PND For Provoking Drama

Kyrie Irving is finally opening up about his relationship with Kehlani and her suicide attempt. Just days after the R&B singer was placed on voluntary psychiatric hold, the NBA star is admitting what really happened.

Kehlani Parrish has been a hot topic on social media. The Grammy-nominated singer confused fans when she deleted all the photos of herself with Kyrie Irving, who she was dating at the time. Then things escalated quickly when R&B singer PARTYNEXTDOOR shared a photo on Instagram of his hands intertwined with Kehlani’s as they laid in bed and watched TV. Fans accused of Kehlani of cheating on Irving, which led to her suicide attempt on Monday, March 28.

The singer announced on Instagram that she attempted suicide due to all the hate she received on social media. Before deleting the post, she shared a photo of herself strapped up to an IV in a hospital bed. Kehlani also admitted that she and Kyrie split long before she got back together with PARTYNEXTDOOR.

“No one was ever cheated on and I’m not a bad person,” she claimed. “Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding.”

Now the Cavaliers star took to Twitter on Wednesday night to reveal his relationship status with the singer.

Irving’s tweets have since been deleted, but many captured a screen grab of his posts. In his tweets, he revealed that his ex-girlfriend did not cheat on him and that fans should focus on basketball instead of petty drama.

“It’s been hard to see what’s been going on and not address the truth. I do not justify to picture or what dude did to try and spark all. Of this non sense that could have been avoided, but Me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out. It’s unfortunate that it’s received so much attention but its become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood. Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family. My only focus the Game I love to play every night.”

This came after Kyrie’s friend Chris Brown attacked the singer in a war of words on Twitter on Tuesday, March 29. As you can see, both Kyrie and Kehlani have bigger things to worry about at the moment. He wants to focus on his NBA playoffs, and the singer needs to focus on her mental health and recovery while avoiding the perils of social media.

But some people think it’s too little, too late for Irving to explain the situation. In fact, he probably should have explained it before Kehlani attempted to commit suicide, according to Hollywood Life. There are some who believe that Irving has contributed to the social media outrage by allowing fans to attack the singer and blame her for cheating on him.

“Oh yeah, Kyrie? If it was ‘hard to see’, then why didn’t you just address the issue two days ago, before Kehlani tried to kill herself?! Clearly Kyrie quickly realized that his statement made him look pretty bad, so he deleted his string of tweets, which also mentioned that he has ‘love and compassion’ for ‘her and her family.'”

According to the Big Lead, it seems like the basketball player is pointing the finger at PARTYNEXTDOOR for causing the drama by sharing a photo of himself with the singer when he let the drama continue to unfold on social media.

Instead of standing out on the sidelines and watching the drama unfold on social media, Kyrie should have cleared up the cheating rumors so that the singer wouldn’t have become an unfortunate victim of online bullying. While their relationship was short-lived, Kehlani, 20, and Irving, 24, often showed off their relationship on Instagram and at a Cavaliers game back in January.
