Madonna Plans To Have Peaceful Talks With Ex Guy Ritchie Over Custody Battle

There appears to be some hope and peace in the end of this long and tumultuous custody battle between Madonna and her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, over their 15-year-old son, Rocco.

After months of disagreeing and not being able to come to a decision that all involved could live with, Madonna is reportedly planning and organizing a peace talk with her ex following the four-month fight for her son. The superstar is reaching out and requesting that she, Ritchie, and their son all sit down and lay everything out on the table to come to some sort of consensus, understanding, and agreement.

A source relayed Madge’s intentions to Us Weekly and stated that the talks will be personal and free of any legal teams, explaining, “There will be no lawyers.”

The battle is as much with her ex as it is with her son, seeing as the teen is adamant that he stays in his father’s care in London. Rocco left his mother and her “Rebel Heart Tour” in December to be with his father over the holidays, after which he refused to return home to his mother in the United States. The teen reportedly feels that his mother is more about making his father look bad than caring about his wishes, as the publication’s source shares.

“Rocco feels that she is more concerned with proving Guy wrong than with what he wants. Madonna is pushing to resolve things, but Guy recently disappeared to the Maldives with Rocco. He isn’t resolving anything now.”

The insider shares that Madonna is all for supporting her son’s wishes and simply wants a peaceful resolution at this point. At the most recent hearing about the case, at which only legal representatives for the former couple were present, Madonna’s lawyer told the judge of the pop star’s intentions and wishes for resolution.

“She wants to chart a course for Rocco and the family to help put this behind them and restore peace to the family.”

If the talks are not a success and the couple, along with Rocco, are unable to come to an agreement, both parties will appear in court for a hearing on June 1, 2016. The situation has been extremely difficult for the Material Girl, and her youngest son David, 10, is also having a very tough time adjusting to not having his big brother, who he admires and looks up to, around like he used to be.

Madonna is also mother to Lourdes, 19, from an earlier marriage, and adopted daughter Mercy, 10. Madonna, 57, and Guy, 47, split in 2008 after eight years of marriage and have endured a rocky relationship since parting ways.

After a rather questionable final leg of her “Rebel Heart Tour” in Australia, Madonna seems in good spirits and back on American soil, taking in the New York and seemingly blowing off steam, as Page Six shares. Madonna was spotted in the West Village recently looking gorgeous and in the company of a fun-loving entourage.

“[S]he arrived at 11 p.m. at Omar’s in the West Village on Tuesday night with Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci. Madge and Tisci headed to a back room, where they met up with R&B singer Maxwell and several male models. She asked the chef to prepare special pasta for her with veggies, which was not on the menu.”

The singer is taking the battle in stride and continuing to keep her head up while remaining positive. She had a bit of a win when the judge ordered that hearings for the case be in New York as opposed to London. However, Madonna’s request for peace talks seems to have been met with Rocco and Guy heading off on vacation to the Maldives as opposed to meeting the star in the Big Apple.
