‘Eagles’ Randy Meisner Estranged Children Fear He Will ‘Drink Himself To Death’

Once again, the Eagles’ Randy Meisner has friends and family worried that he is going over the edge. Since the accidental death of his wife in a bizarre gun accident, Meisner has been acting erratically and drinking heavily. The concern now is that Meisner is going to finally drink himself to death.

According to the Inquisitr, The Eagles’ Randy Meisner was in the house when his wife, Lana Rae Meisner, was shot accidentally after a domestic violence incident. Ironically, the police had been at the Meisner home about an hour before Lana Rae Meisner was allegedly fumbling in a closet when spurs fell off a shelf, accidentally discharging one on their guns. Though the story sounds crazy, the entire incident was captured on video, as the Meisners kept video cameras throughout the house.

TMZ is reporting that Randy Meisner, has a history of alcoholism, drug abuse, and mental health problems, including past commitments. The worry is that Meisner is now surrounding himself with people who are enabling him. Friend James Newton has filed to get a conservator for Meisner, especially one with mental health experience.

Meisner reportedly has a history of drinking a pint of vodka a day, and it’s gotten worse since the death of his wife. The belief that Meisner is in some peril has increased since the death of Lana Roe Meisner. It was thought that Randy Meisner was already under a conservatorship, but that isn’t true. Newton does not want to be the conservator himself this time around, as he thinks the position requires someone with specialized experience.

Meisner has grown increasingly suspicious of his own children, who he thinks are trying to control him in the wake of his wife’s death, reports TMZ. Meisner believes his own kids are ready to pounce, but they too are looking to put him under a conservatorship. It seems that Meisner is estranged from the rest of his family.

But Randy Meisner has a plan to work around his children (Lana Rae Meisner was not their mother). Meisner is trying to put himself under a conservatorship, with a trusted friend, to do an end run around his kids, and to have his plan executed as he wants. Meisner’s children tried to get a conservatorship last year, as did James Newton, while Lana Rae Meisner was still alive, as Randy Meisner was drinking heavily back then, and obviously lived in a house with guns and some level of abuse.

Contact Music says that James Newton has been Meisner’s friend for years, but he is truly concerned for his friend’s life. Three entities have filed separate conservatorship documents to get someone to oversee Randy Meisner’s affairs, as it is universally thought that he cannot care for himself. There is no word as to whether or not someone has now cleared out the firearms from the Meisner home.

James Newton is very concerned that Randy Meisner will chose one of his enablers to be his conservator, and the substance abuse will spiral. James Newton says that he has been concerned for Meisner long before the death of Lana Rae Meisner, who Newton claims was abusing Randy Meisner daily.

The Meisner children, Dana, Heather and Eric, are all adults, and claim to want what is best for their father, but they have been estranged from him for some time. Randy Meisner’s mental health condition has made him paranoid, and after threatening to kill people in a hospital, he was committed in the past to a mental ward.

Do you think that Randy Meisner of the Eagles should be able to appoint his own conservator, or should the court choose someone else?
