WWE Rumor: Cesaro To Make A Surprise Return At ‘WrestleMania 32’
It was announced just a couple of weeks ago that former WWE Tag-Team and United States Champion Cesaro, who has been out of action for the last several months due to a shoulder injury, will be returning to in-ring action when WWE heads to Europe next month. But, it’s starting to look like the “Swiss Superman” may be returning a lot sooner than expected.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Cesaro has been spotted in Dallas, which is the site of this Sunday’s WrestleMania 32, and they also noted that he isn’t wearing the sling that he had to wear while he was rehabbing his shoulder.

Cageside Seats reported on Wednesday that WWE was planning a surprise return for this Sunday’s show. So maybe that surprise return will end up being Cesaro. They also reported that the “Swiss Superman” may end up in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
“As noted here, apparently there’s been talk of Cesaro making a surprise return in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.”
Prior to Wednesday, WWE had announced that the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal would air on the USA Network as part of the WrestleMania 32 pre-game show. But instead, it’s been moved to the main-show, and the United States Championship match between Ryback and Kalisto, along with the multi-woman tag-team match will be featured on the pre-show.
So, WWE moving the Battle Royal to the main card suggests that they’re planning something noteworthy for the match, and that could in fact be the return of Cesaro.
Up until this week, the Wyatt Family’s Braun Strowman was considered to be the favorite to win the Battle Royal on Sunday. But now Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Vince McMahon is now starting to second-guess his decision to push Strowman, and he may not end up winning the Battle Royal after all.
“There have been second thoughts regarding Strowman, particularly given the reaction to his match with Ambrose in Philadelphia. At this point he is no longer a lock to win the Battle Royal, which he had been. They were open to other ideas this week. He still may win. But the plan for him to win the Battle Royal and face Lesnar at SummerSlam is no longer a sure thing.”
So, if WWE is changing the finish of the Battle Royal, then it makes sense to bring someone like Cesaro in as a surprise to have him win. If that does end up happening, it would be Cesaro’s second Battle Royal win, as he won the inaugural one back at WrestleMania 30 by last eliminating the following year’s winner, Big Show.
Cesaro may be one of many returning stars on the show, as guys like John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and possibly Randy Orton may all appear on the show. But of course, Cesaro will be the only one of those men who will be in an actual match, as the others will likely be involved in some kind of backstage or in-ring interview segment.
Also, Cesaro will be returning as a singles star due to Tyson Kidd’s (his tag-team partner) likely career-ending neck injury, so “The Swiss Superman” will be trying to regain on the momentum that he had prior to his injury.
The “Cesaro Section” should be out in full-force this Sunday, because the WrestleMania crowd is typically the most hardcore crowd of the entire year.
