Liam Payne’s Family Shocked At One Direction Star’s New Love Interest

Being a fan of Liam Payne and One Direction is rarely easy. At present Payne’s fans are still struggling to come to terms with the fact that One Direction are on a hiatus. With Liam and One Direction enjoying a well deserved break and no tour to look forward to you would be forgiven for believing that PR stunts and constant speculation about the boys love lives would die down for a while. Sadly, that seems not to be the case, as the tabloids are as hungry as ever for a One Direction story.

In recent months, media focus has largely been on Payne and Louis Tomlinson. Liam’s mate, Niall Horan, feels relaxed enough to spend some time backpacking in the far east, and it has been days since we saw Harry Styles linked with a new love interest. Whilst Harry and Niall have managed to keep a relatively low profile, the gossip machine has been going crazy with stories about Louis and Liam.

Anyone with even a passing interest in One Direction will be aware that Payne is currently linked with former X-Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. At present, Payne is in L.A. with Cheryl, who is reportedly in the studio working on a new album. Yesterday, it was reported in Inquisitr that Cheryl has banned Liam from partying with Tomlinson because she is concerned that rumors claiming that Liam is cheating on her might prove a distraction. Many fans are unhappy at the prospect of seeing Liam kept apart from Louis, but it seems that some of Payne’s family would prefer him to distance himself from Cheryl.

According to the Sun, Payne’s cousin, and former contestant on The Voice, Ross Harris thinks that Liam’s relationship with Cheryl is “a bit weird.” To be fair to Harris and to ensure his comments are taken in context, his comments are based on the age difference between Liam and Cheryl, and he did also say that “if it works, it works.” Ross is surprised that Liam is dating an older woman whilst his bandmates are linked with young models.

“It’s quite funny that the other One Direction guys are dating really young models and Liam has gone for the mature relationship – but she still looks like a model.

“He’s done well! She’s obviously very famous and very nice looking.”

The Daily Mail reports that Harris is convinced that Liam and Cheryl’s relationship is not a “shomance” created for the sake of publicity.

“I don’t think their relationship is for publicity just because they’ve been seen holding hands and going to restaurants – unless they’re having fun with the media and fooling everyone, which would actually be quite funny.

“I suppose only time will tell. They’ll probably be married in a few weeks, it’s that kind of vibe.”

Capital FM picks up on Harris’s comment that Liam and Cheryl “could be married in a few weeks.” Payne’s cousin may feel happy to comment on Liam’s relationship, and the tabloids are happy to report his thoughts. It does seem that all of them might benefit from talking to some of Payne’s fans, who would be happy to tell them that a quick wedding between Liam and Cheryl is not just unlikely, at present, it would be either impossible or illegal. Cheryl is after all married to someone else. Still why should they let the truth get in the way of a good story?

Whatever the truth about Payne’s reported romance it does seem that Liam and Cheryl are comfortable in each others company. Capital FM even reported earlier this month that Liam and Cheryl are practically living together. Apparently, a source told Heat magazine that Cheryl is practically living in Payne’s house.

“Cheryl has been staying over at Liam’s house in Surrey, since late January. She and Liam have practically moved in together — they even bought new furniture to make his place more homely.”

It has even been claimed that Liam and Cheryl have talked about having kids. Of course, Payne’s fans want nothing more than to see Liam happy. If Liam’s relationship is for real and it makes him happy, then Payne’s fans will support him all the way. The problem is that many of Liam’s fans believe that Payne and the rest of One Direction have been forced into so many PR relationships that it will take a lot more than a few pictures of Liam and Cheryl holding hands to convince them that this one is for real.
