Sean Penn Finishes Anger Management Dodging An 18-Month Jail Sentence
Sean Penn, who was famous for his domestic disputes with now ex wife Madonna, has graduated from anger management school after his completion of 36 hours of classes.
Penn who has been known for his temper in the past, was charged with vandalism after a Los Angeles squabble with a photographer in 2009, left a photographer’s camera broken when Sean Penn tried to kick the man. Although the battery charges were dropped in the case due to Penn’s plea, the actor was given three years of probation and sentenced to anger management classes.
Now that Penn has completed classes he doesn’t have any obligations even though he’s on probation until May of 2013, and has claimed to have learned his lesson. If he had been convicted at a trial, Sean Penn could have received up to 18 months in jail. Known for his illustrious career, Penn is also just as known for his violent past. In 1987 the actor was sentenced to 60 days in jail after attacking an extra on the set of the film Colors, although he only served half the sentence.
At the time of his arrest, Sean Penn was on probation for punching a songwriter at a Los Angeles nightclub. A year later, in 1988, Penn was charged with domestic violence when married to singer Madonna. He had pled guilty to the misdemeanor afterward. Over the years Madonna had alluded that although Penn is the love of her life, that their marriage was turbulent.
In the last few years Sean Penn has worked effortlessly in Haiti, and last May he co-hosted a fundraiser at Cannes Film Festival for the victims of the earthquake. Do you think Sean Penn will ever escape his violent in the past?
