Natalie Portman Wedding: Actress Ties The Knot In Secret Ceremony
Natalie Portman’s wedding came in under the Hollywood radar, as the actress tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Benjamin Millepied in a ceremony in Big Sur, Calif., on Saturday.
Details of the wedding were closely guarded, but The Huffington Post reports that it was an intimate Jewish ceremony held at a private residence. Natalie Portman’s wedding came six months after her engagement to Millepied, and the two were seen wearing matching rings at the Academy Awards in February.
The couple, which has been notoriously private about details of their relationship, didn’t share details about the engagement or the rings, but jeweler Jamie Wolf told Us Weekly: “I designed the rings worn by Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman . . . They were made with recycled platinum and conflict free diamonds.”
There have been some other small glimpses of the couple’s relationship. At her acceptance speech for Best Actress Oscar that Portman won for “Black Swan,” she called Millepied “my beautiful love.” Portnman also thanked him for giving her “the most important role of my life [motherhood].”
Portman also noted that Millepied played a small but interesting role in “Black Swan,” saying: “Benjamin choreographed the film, and also you might remember him in the movie as the guy when they ask, ‘Would you sleep with that girl?’ And he’s like, ‘Pffsh, no.’ He’s the best actor. It’s not true: He totally wants to sleep with me!”
The 31-year-old Portman met 35-year-old Millepied on the set of the 2010 suspense thriller “Black Swan,” where Portman played a ballerina who descends into madness. Millepied was the choreographer for the film. The couple has a 13-month-old son, Adelph.
The Natalie Portman wedding took place beneath a chuppah and started at 8 p.m.–with the wedding playing out in the dark, Us Weekly noted.
