According to The Futon Critic, season 7, episode 18 of TVD is titled “One Way Or Another.” The April 15 episode of The Vampire Diaries will still have Stefan in danger. Damon and Alaric travel to Memphis to located an escaped vampire named Ambrose. It turns out that this vampire might have the key to saving Stefan Salvatore. However, Alaric doesn’t want to get involved and makes sure that Damon knows this. Alaric will also explain what life has been life for the past three years without Damon’s chaos.
The synopsis for season 7, episode 18 states that Stefan isn’t the only TVD character to be in danger. Bonnie will be in a psychiatric hospital and while there, she meets Virginia (Aisha Duran) and learns why The Armory might be after her. As for Enzo, he will discover “devastating” news from Rayna, which causes him to take care of things himself.
Speaking to TV Line, Ian Somerhalder gave some details on what to expect from Damon and Bonnie in The Vampire Diaries. Even though Damon wakes up three years in the future, Bonnie remains furious with her best friend. He abandoned her, but is this the end of their friendship? Somerhalder said that during the rest of season 7 of The Vampire Diaries, Damon Salvatore will have to build his friendship back up. Based on this simple statement, it sounds like Bonnie will forgive Damon eventually.

As for Damon and Stefan Salvatore, Somerhalder admitted that his character is a huge burden and a big liability. Ian explained that while Damon’s long sleep was filled with good intentions, it was, in reality, the act of a coward.
“Damon is the biggest burden on the planet. He’s Stefan and Elena and Mystic Falls’ biggest liability — and I say that with love. Damon desiccating, while his intentions may have been pure, was a super cowardice act,” Somerhalder told TV Line about Damon Salvatore‘s decision in The Vampire Diaries. “He left everyone high and dry, but because he’s such a vulnerable character, the audience forgives him for so many things. At the end of the day, come on, this guy does terrible things to people and just gets away with it. Poor Stefan, you know?”
