‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Reunion — Even Andy Cohen Is Over Kenya Moore’s Antics
Family reunions are always fabulous. Well, sort of. During the reunion special of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, even host Andy Cohen seemed over it.
Andy usually takes no particular side, choosing to listen to everyone’s responses to his questions in an impartial, practical manner. But during the reunion special Kenya Moore, the self-proclaimed star of the show, seemed to get under Andy’s skin. And towards the end of the show, the host couldn’t stop himself from him calling her out on certain topics.
Kenya started out by throwing Kim under the bus when the discussion was about Kenya’s show, Life Twirls On. Kenya had previously asked Kim to be on the show, states Us Weekly, but when Kim shared the screener with her hubby, Chris Morgan, Kenya wasn’t thrilled.“I didn’t give it to her husband,” Moore said. “I gave it to her, so his opinion didn’t matter. That’s biting the hand that feeds you. I brought you into this group, so you need to understand that.” By the expressions on the women’s faces, this comment didn’t sit well. “She’s on a stage that I’m a star of,” Kenya added.
“Listen, I’m not going to take anything away from the fact that she was a child star,” Kenya stated in response after Andy commented about the many tweets that insinuated that Kenya is jealous of newbie Kim Fields.
According to E! News, Kenya’s comment paid homage to Kim’s start on The Facts of Life, but intentionally ignored her later work on Living Single. But Andy Cohen wasn’t about to sit by idly.“She’s also continued working since then,” Andy pointed out.
“Yes, in the ’90s, she did,” Kenya countered. But Andy shot back by telling Kenya that during the 90’s she was Miss USA.
“Let me finish. I have a career that spans over 30 years myself. I can pay my bills,” Kenya said, changing the subject from her downplay of Kim Fields career and towards her new enemies’ financial troubles. “I don’t have tax liens. I don’t have foreclosures.”
The other Real Housewives of Atlanta backed Kim up, reports Daily Mail, after Kenya said that she was coming for her purse and calling her “the lowest man on the totem pole.”Kim Fields was grateful for the support, saying, ”I’m so excited for that support.” But Kenya only seemed to get further irritated, and soon began taking jabs at the other housewives, specifically when Andy brought up the time when Phaedra Parks called Kenya “oatmeal pie face” during the season. “On your best day and my worst you wouldn’t even be my third runner-up. You wouldn’t even be on the same stage I stand,” Kenya told Phaedra, insisting that, “I’m black, I’m proud, I love it. I love this chocolate and so does anyone else.”
Kenya continued on, mentioning the time when Kim Fields told her husband “I’m Kim Fields” after an argument with Kenya. Kenya believes that through that statement she was diminishing the entire group while putting herself on a pedestal. But Andy stepped in again, pointing out that Kenya was being hypocritical.“If you’re walking around saying, ‘I’m gone with the wind fabulous,’ isn’t that your own declaration?”
Of course, Kenya disagreed, but by now the other Housewives started to back Andy up as well. “Can we roll back to what you just said a little while ago? ‘I am the star of this show!’ ” Kandi Burruss asked.
Kenya retrieved her previous statement, saying, “I said a star.”
“No, you said the,” Kandi reiterated.
Part 1 of the three-part reunion ended in heated fashion as Kenya and Kim getting into a shouting match.
