WWE Rumors: Former Champion Retiring On ‘Monday Night Raw’ The Day After ‘WrestleMania 32’
In mid-February, Daniel Bryan finally gave official word that he had to retire from WWE and the wrestling world entirely due to injuries. Now, it appears as if another champion is prepared to give their notice of retirement and a lot sooner than originally expected. On the Monday Night Raw following WrestleMania 32, Brie Bella will be officially announcing she is retiring.
According to the Pro Wrestling Sheet, Brie Bella is ready to be done with the world of wrestling and no longer compete in the ring. It is not known if there is an injury to her of some sort or not, but she is ready to retire now.
Some have wondered if something is wrong with Daniel Bryan as he has been pulled out of all WWE Live Events where he was scheduled to appear. Most recently, Bryan was pulled from WrestleMania Axxess as well and replaced by Shawn Michaels.
WWE said that Bryan has simply “requested time off,” and they granted it. There is said to be no bad blood between him and the company, but that he needs time away due to health reasons.
Bryan’s health issues and him pulling out of WWE events is also being reported as the reason that Brie Bella missed Monday Night Raw this past week. Due to whatever is going on with Daniel Bryan’s health, this is supposedly the reason that she is speeding up the process of her retirement.Back in February, Brie had appeared on Good Morning America with her husband, Daniel Bryan, to talk about injuries and retirement and other things. It was then that she revealed she would likely give her announcement sometime in the summer of 2016.
“Feeling and seeing everything he went through with his retirement, I just feel that it’s time for me to hang up the boots. It’s gonna be hard on me as well, but that day is definitely very close.”
Brie Bella is not going to disappear from WWE completely after announcing her retirement on Monday Night Raw the day after WrestleMania 32. She is still going to be a cast member on Total Divas and will also be making appearances on WWE Network shows.
Her retirement will take her out of the ring as a full-time wrestler though, and she’s going to take on the role of an ambassador for WWE.
In the past couple of weeks, WWE has been working a program between Lana and Brie Bella which was leading up to a possible match between the two. Sports Illustrated has said that Brie was hoping to have one going-away match before she retires, and that she could take on Lana in it.
Since Lana has never wrestled a match in WWE before, it looked as if the company was leading toward a big multi-Diva tag match at WrestleMania. Brie Bella would be on a team with Paige, Alicia Fox, Natalya, and one other member. They would take on the newly formed team of Lana, Summer Rae, Emma, Naomi, and Tamina Snuka. Now, it’s not known if Brie Bella is going to compete at WrestleMania 32 or even be there due to what is going on with her husband. The multi-Divas tag team match has not been officially added to the card yet or anything, but WWE has strongly hinted at it on their television programming and social media accounts.
Brie Bella has accomplished a lot during her time in the ring and with WWE, but there are just other things calling for more of her attention. It’s not known yet, but it is possible that Daniel Bryan will be on the Monday Night Raw on the day after WrestleMania 32 to officially announce her retirement.
