Walt Disney World Announces Dates For Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2016
Disney has finally released the 2016 dates for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Every year, Magic Kingdom transforms into a spooky gathering of fun, trick-or-treating, costumes, and let’s not forget the “Boo To You” Parade. This year, Walt Disney World will bring all the fun on 29 nights throughout September and October, but you had better get your tickets early as they sell out fast.
Now, there are going to be some new costume guidelines for this year’s Halloween parties as expected once new security measures came into place at the Disney Parks earlier this year.
The first party does fall rather earlier this year as it is right at the beginning of September, and then there are 10 more throughout that month. Those visiting in October won’t be left out though as there are 18 dates in that month that guests can enjoy the spooky thrills of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The Disney Parks Blog has revealed all of the information for this year with many favorite events returning such as “Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade,” the “Happy HalloWishes” fireworks, and the very popular “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular,” which is back for a second year.
Here are all the dates for the 2016 parties:
- September – 2, 8, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 29, 30
- October – 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31
With the reveal of these dates, it is expected that Disney will soon be releasing the dates for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party as well. Typically, the dates are released together, but it appears Disney went with just Halloween to start.
Now, it was earlier this year that Disney Parks added new security measures including new costume guidelines and metal detectors at park entrances. A lot of guests have wondered how this may affect the Halloween parties, and Disney has addressed that.
“New this year, we have revised our costuming guidelines for special events in our theme parks. While costumed attire may be worn, guests ages 14 and older are strongly discouraged from wearing layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body as they may be subject to additional security screening. Additionally, costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.”
So, adults will be able to dress in costumes for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but there are some limits.
Tickets have not gone on sale as of yet, and Disney has not announced when they are set to go on sale either. The prices for this year’s tickets haven’t been revealed yet either, but Disney will likely be coming out with those soon too.
Tickets typically go on sale in April and that is when Disney usually releases the dates for both parties as well. Last year, the dates were released for both the Halloween and Christmas parties in February due to the info leaking out from multiple sites. Now, guests are simply waiting for the ticket sale date and also the dates for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party which takes place throughout November and December.
Walt Disney World does it up right for the holidays, and they always bring a lot for their guests, especially with these huge parties. Halloween is a lot closer than you may think and it’s time to start planning that trip to the Disney Parks.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the most anticipated and fun events held at Walt Disney World each year. Guests have rather impatiently been awaiting the release of the dates, and Disney has finally obliged, but they will still have to wait a bit longer to buy their tickets for the spooky fun at Magic Kingdom.
