Crazy Town Singer Shifty Shellshock Apologizes For Drug Addiction, Arrest
Crazy Town singer Shifty Shellshock was recently arrested for drug possession and now he wants everyone he hurt to know that he’s off drugs and seeking long-term help for his addictive personality.
Shellshock’s rep Seth Binzer sat down with TMZ and said of his clients new found sobriety:
“Seth has completely changed his life around and has checked into a highly regarded drug and alcohol treatment center where he will be working with them to restructure his life over the next 2 years.”
On Wednesday a judge sentenced the singer to three years probation after he was arrested in February for carrying drugs and beating up his ex-GF. At the time of his arrest Shifty was carrying a rock of cocaine.
According to his rep Shifty Shellshock has been seeking treatment since April, immediately after he was released from an L.A. hospital after he slipped into a coma that baffled doctors.
After slipping into his coma sources close to the singer told Perez Hilton:
“The possibility of jail time may have sent the Celebrity Rehab participant over the edge, and that the coma is probably drug-related.”
Shifty is known as much for his time with Crazy Town as his appearances on “Celebrity Rehab” however since ending his tour the singer has quit all vices including drugs, alcohol and even cigarettes.
Shellshock helped co-found Crazy Town with Bret Mazur in 1999, the group had a modest hit with “Butterfly” in 2001 but their follow-up album in 2002 failed to connect with fans and they have most recently toured to small crowds.
