The Bachelorette 2016 lead JoJo Fletcher will reportedly bring in her brothers, Ben and Martin Patton, in the coming episodes of the ABC series. Her two overprotective brothers will try to scare the 20 contestants from taking advantage of JoJo and help her find true love. MMA fighter Johnny Case has also expressed interest in being a contestant on The Bachelorette 2016, asking ABC producers to send him the itinerary of the show.
According to Bustle , producers of The Bachelorette 2016 may end up changing the format of the show to include JoJo Fletcher’s brothers. Bachelor Nation fans first saw Ben and Martin during the “Hometown Date” episode in the last season of The Bachelor . As you may recall, Ben and Martin were not at all thrilled when their younger sister brought Ben Higgins back with her in Dallas. Ben even said that he could not bring himself to think of Higgins as an overall “genuine” person.
As Ben Patton also had an experience starring in a reality dating show, it was said that he could even give younger sister JoJo Fletcher some advice on how to handle the pressure of finding love on The Bachelorette 2016.
In 2013, Patton was in the Eva Longoria-produced dating show Ready For Love . Unfortunately, the show was cancelled after only two episodes because of the low ratings. The rest of the series was then aired on Hulu.
According to Bustle , JoJo Fletcher’s brother eventually found his match and even proposed to a woman named Angela Zatopek. Their relationship, however, soon ended. In an interview with the Huffington Post , Patton explained what he thought was one of the main reasons why most reality TV relationships do not succeed over time.
“That’s really the challenge. Transferring that relationship from that ‘vacation’ mindset to, ‘Okay let’s go back to the real world.’ If anything, I think this shows can be a lot more successful. It’s just that challenge of transitioning. That’s really when they run into the wall.”
This is probably why JoJo Fletcher’s older brother was not too keen on Ben Higgins during the hometown date. In that episode, both he and Martin were very protective of JoJo, to the point of even accusing Higgins of “ brainwashing ” Fletcher. They insisted that he was faking his feelings, making girls fall in love with him only to leave them in the end.
“You brainwash these girls way too much, man. To see my sister like that… She’s obviously starting to have real emotional feelings but I don’t get the same read [from you].”
Ben also thought it was “kind of spooky” seeing JoJo that attached to Higgins. Martin also wondered how she could fall in love with him that quickly, considering they only had two one-on-one dates together.
At one point in the episode, Fletcher admitted that she was scared that Higgins will send her home because of the way her brothers treated him. In the end, it was Amanda Stanton who did not receive a rose from Ben Higgins that night.
When it was announced that JoJo Fletcher will headline The Bachelorette 2016 , her brothers, Ben and Martin Patton, were not in the studio with her. Bustle speculated that Bachelorette producers were just trying to avoid an all-out brawl between the Patton brothers and Ben Higgins. After all, Higgins made Fletcher believe that he will eventually choose her over Lauren Bushnell.
In other news, MMA fighter Johnny Case has recently expressed interest in being a part of The Bachelorette 2016. On his Twitter page, Case asked the ABC producers to let him be one of the contestants in Season 12.
“It’s time to switch things up with a real man sweeping JoJo off her feet, without the sensitive dudes saying a peep. JoJo, I will make it up to you, you can count on that.”
Case also encouraged his fans to let the network know if they wanted to see him as a contestant in The Bachelorette 2016.
