WWE News: ‘Daniel Bryan Night’ Scheduled This Week With Three Huge Title Matches At Madison Square Garden
Daniel Bryan‘s not-so-shocking, but still hard to take, retirement announcement in February is something that a lot of fans still aren’t happy about. His wrestling career is over and he will sadly never step foot in a WWE, or any, ring again as an active competitor. That isn’t stopping him from appearing and still being around though. A “Daniel Bryan Night” is taking place at a WWE event this week, and Madison Square Garden is the perfect place for it.
Right before Monday Night Raw this past week, a rumor started going around that Bryan would show up on the episode that night. Well, it didn’t end up happening, even though a lot of people thought he would be there to stand in the corner of his wife, Brie Bella.
That didn’t happen, and he may still be a part of WrestleMania 32 in one way or another, but no one knows as of now. This week though, WWE will be holding a “Daniel Bryan Night” at Madison Square Garden, and as WrestleZone reported, it has a good card attached to it as well.Local advertisements are running in New York City, detailing what matches will be on the card for “Daniel Bryan Night.” It’s all taking place at Madison Square Garden on Friday night, and it is honestly pay-per-view quality.
Of course, Daniel Bryan is going to be appearing at the event, and he will likely address the crowd and give a promo. It’s not known if WWE will be taping any footage for the WWE Network or not, but there is likely a good chance of that, or at least for a future DVD release.
Many of the matches deal with feuds from the past month or so, and those leading up to WrestleMania 32. There are even three title matches on the card, and depending on what WWE allows to happen, they could have some affect on the early April PPV.
The main event is going to feature Triple H teaming with Sheamus to take on the team of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. The official website for Madison Square Garden points out that this is the first time Triple H will return to MSG as an in-ring competitor in nearly five years.
There will be three title matches on the card and one will have Kevin Owens put his Intercontinental Title on the line against AJ Styles. This is a feud that has been building since Styles entered WWE in late January, and one that could be seen again soon.In the another title match, Kalisto is putting the United States Title on the line against Alberto Del Rio and Ryback in a Triple Threat match. Del Rio is who Kalisto defeated for the title from last month, and Ryback gets a one-on-one shot for the U.S. Title at WrestleMania 32 in two weeks.
Other matches listed for the card are:- WWE Tag Team Titles: The New Day (c) vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. The Usos
- Kane & Big Show vs. Bray Wyatt & The Wyatt Family (Expected to be Braun Strowman)
- Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz
The card is always subject to change as anything can happen. Madison Square Garden is also listing a lot of other superstars as appearing at the event.
- Ric Flair
- Charlotte
- Rusev
- Lana
- Sin Cara
- Natalya
- Sasha Banks
- Becky Lynch
Many more are expected to appear at Madison Square Garden for “Daniel Bryan Night,” and it’s going to be a huge event. Fans are in for a fun night with the title matches, great card, and an appearance by Daniel Bryan himself as the “Road to WrestleMania 32” continues.
