The past three months have been hectically busy for former K-pop idol Jessica Jung, of Girls’ Generation. Earlier on, Jessica announced she would release her first solo album , one which fans could attain a signed copy early. All they had to do was buy Blanc & Eclare cosmetics equaling up to $250 at a pop-up located in Incheon International Airport, or equaling up to $350 on the company’s official website.
Despite the fact some “Gorjess Spazzers” (Jessica Jung fans), as well as some Sones who refuse to forget Jessica, though she is no longer a part of Girls’ Generation, fulfilling the requirements to get the album early, not much is known about it. However, Jessica did release a track in accordance to her solo career through Grazia, a song performed in English, titled “Gravity.”
“Gravity” on its own is very beautiful. Not only that, but it shows that Jessica Jung is going a different direction from her K-pop idol days too. Still, the song’s message and tone have so many believing Jessica is indirectly singing it for the rest of Girls’ Generation, as if she is officially “breaking up” with them, though it hurts. Though most fans are scraping the bottom of the barrel of stipulation, it does make some sense given “Gravity” was originally performed by Sara Bareilles and she did make it known it was a break up song.
It is also possible Jessica Jung is singing this song as a means to show she is ready to move on, and not wanting to compete with her former group members , Taeyeon, Tiffany, Sunny, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Yuri, and Seohyun. Jessica is moving forward in her life and it seems she is doing the same when it comes to television. As mentioned in earlier reports, Jessica was possibly hosting a beauty show on Korean television. Jessica Jung has officially made it known she will be doing hosting duties for an upcoming beauty show on KBS, titled Beauty Bible .
Jessica Jung let her fans know of the upcoming beauty show on the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) on her official Instagram account, as reported by AllKpop . In it, she poses in a cute selfie of herself pouting. Jessica provided the following caption.
“First day in the books! End of first recording.”
There were numerous hashtags used too which provided clues of the upcoming Beauty Bible television show. Some of them were straight-forward like #KBSWorld and #KBSdrama, which would link directly to KBS itself. The one hashtag that is getting a lot of attention though is #160402. From what fans are able to discern, the first episode of Beauty Bible will air on April 2, 2016.
Apparently, Jessica Jung is a co-host. According to KpopStarz , Heo Young Ji , better known as Youngji, will also share hosting duties with the former Girls’ Generation member. As for their pairing, there is no reason for it, but it is by happenstance two former members of K-pop idol groups ended up on the same show. For those who do not know, Youngji was the youngest member of KARA. Earlier this year, KARA disbanded when its other members, Gyuri Seungyeon, and Hara, decided not to renew their contracts with DSP Media. So in a way, Jessica and Youngji share a familiar pain in which they were ejected from their respective K-pop idol groups in some fashion.
Going back to Jessica Jung’s caption on her Instagram, Beauty Bible is rumored to air on April 2, 2016. It is a show where the hosts will discuss with viewers beauty secrets, probably pertaining to the Hallyu Wave. They will also give out personal tips and cosmetic skills based off of experiences. It should also be noted Jessica Jung will technically be competing against Girls’ Generation, as their member, Hyoyeon, is also a host for another beauty show on OnStyle, called Beauty Mentor .
