‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Spoilers — Does A New Leaked Scene Finally Confirm Jon Snow’s Destiny?

The biggest mystery about Game of Thrones’ upcoming season is undoubtedly related to Jon Snow’s fate. While Jon was killed off at the end of last season, fans have been unable to come to terms with his death. With plenty of theories to back up the assertion that Jon is alive, did the most recent trailer confirm his destiny?

According to Tech Times, the first full trailer for season 6 of Game of Thrones broke records for HBO. In fact, over 30 million fans viewed the trailer online in day one of its release. Although the trailer featured plenty of new footage for fans to feast upon, one clip in particular had fans believing that Jon is back.

The Mirror is reporting that Jon can be seen riding a horse in one of the battle scenes in the trailer. Although the image is certainly blurry, a man who looks like Jon can be seen riding a white horse into battle. Is this evidence that Jon will be resurrected?

Unfortunately, the image isn’t clear enough to determine whether or not the man riding the horse is Jon. However, there are a number of compelling arguments as to why the series will bring back the beloved character.

For starters, MTV is reporting that a huge plot point in Jon’s story arc has not been resolved: the true identity of his parents. While the series has led viewers to believe that Jon is Ned Stark’s bastard son, there is a theory that suggests otherwise.

In the Game of Thrones books, Jon Snow is born during Robert Baratheon’s rebellion against Rhaegar Targaryen. The only thing that is certain is that Ned brought Jon to Winterfell after the war ended and claimed he was his bastard son.

However, there is a theory that Jon is actually the son of Ned’s sister, Lyanna Stark, and Rhaegar Targaryen. During the rebellion, Rhaegar kidnapped Lyanna and held her hostage in the Tower of Joy. It isn’t clear if there was a romance between them or if Rhaegar raped her, but either way, it is believed that she carried his child.

With Lyanna betrothed to Robert Baratheon, Ned set out to rescue her but failed in his attempt. Upon her death, Lyanna made Ned swear to keep a promise for her. Many fans suspect Lyanna’s promise was to keep the identity of Jon’s parents a secret, because bearing the name Targaryen would make him a target.

Of course, this is only a theory that has yet to be officially confirmed. Whatever the truth of the matter, the fact that fans still don’t know the identity of Jon’s parents makes it seem unlikely that the series would end his storyline. If he truly is a Targaryen, then Jon has a legitimate claim to the throne and is one of the few Targaryens still alive.

In addition to uncovering the identity of his parents, Bustle is reporting that Kit Harington has not cut his hair. This could be a ploy by producers to keep fans guessing about Jon’s fate, though it is interesting that he is still sporting Jon’s look even after production for Season 6 has concluded.

Theories and haircuts aside, the beginning of the trailer did feature Jon lying in a pool of blood. It also included a look at Jon’s corpse at the very end, hinting that the beloved character is truly dead.

Whatever ends up happening, fans can expect some questions to be answered when Game of Thrones finally returns next month. Hopefully, the answer is one that fans have been waiting for ever since the Lord Commander met his end last season.

Season 6 of Game of Thrones is set to return April 9 on HBO.
