Did Blake Shelton Just Reveal That Miranda Lambert Did Indeed Cheat On ‘The Voice’ Coach?
Blake Shelton’s newest album offers an inside look at the country star’s innermost struggles. This includes an interesting perspective on his divorce last summer from Miranda Lambert. Although they kept the details of their split out of the public eye, the album sheds light on what went down, and it doesn’t bode well for Lambert.
In his most recent single, titled “Came Here To Forget,” Shelton referenced his emotional breakup and hinted that Lambert cheated on him. According to Hollywood Life, the song also relates how Shelton’s relationship with Gwen Stefani helped him get through his split with Lambert.
“It’s obvious it’s about Miranda, who was rumored to have cheated… it tells the story of how Blake and Gwen [Stefani] found comfort in each other’s arms after both of their marriages imploded last year. It makes it clear he feels wronged by Miranda and that it was her fault the marriage fell apart. And he’s letting the world know it.”
Shelton isn’t the person who penned the lyrics to the song, but he is the one who picked it for his album. Clearly, the song resonated with Shelton enough that he not only included it in the album, but also named it after the title.
“No doubt Blake was struck by the uncanny way it reflected recent events in his life. It’s a song about being on the rebound, and it strikes a chord because everyone knows about the breakup of his marriage,” the source added. “And it hits a nerve because it hints at cheating.”According to International Business Times, one of the reasons why Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were able to connect so well was because of their shared experiences. As fans will recall, Stefani divorced Gavin Rossdale this past summer after reports surfaced that he had cheated on her with their children’s nanny.
Furthermore, Shelton is not shy about how much his newest single reflects what he went through in the divorce. In an interview with the Washington Post, revealed just how much his newest song is about the events in his life. “I don’t think I’ve ever had a song that’s such a direct look into my life,” he shared.
Indeed, the first lines of the song are clearly directed at his new romance with Stefani: “Girl, you gettin’ over him, and I’m gettin’ over her,” Shelton sings.
The song then dives into an alcohol induced hook-up between two lovers who have just been dumped. In a not so subtle way, the song alludes to the fact that both of the subjects of the song have been cheated on, and are ready to seek out their revenge.
“Keep leanin’ it on in closer, keep saltin’ the rim/Getting even with her, and with him, before the night is over,” the line reads.
Clearly, Shelton is using his music as a means to vent out his emotions about his breakup with Lambert. The only questions remaining are how many of the songs in the album discuss his split, and whether or not they reveal anything more about his divorce from Lambert.
Shelton’s album is expected to drop this coming May. The only thing left to do is wait for Lambert to retaliate with an album of her own, which should definitely shed more light on the matter. For her part, Stefani is also gearing up for the release of her newest album, titled This Is What the Truth Feels Like. Naturally, fans can expect for even more revelations about her breakup with Rossdale, which was particularly emotional for the No Doubt front woman.
