Long Term Partners Danny Dyer And Joanne Mas To Tie The Knot In A Spanish-Themed Wedding
The EastEnders star Danny Dyer, and his girlfriend of over 24 years, Joanne Mas are set to walk down the aisle together in a Spanish-themed wedding this summer. In a recent interview with the Hello! Magazine, Danny Dyer has revealed plans for a Spanish themed wedding in the English countryside. Danny said in the interview that he has been “a typical man about the wedding” and has left “the missus” in charge of planning the wedding.
“I have left it to the missus. At this stage, I am just a guest. I don’t even know the postcode.”
Although he admits leaving all the wedding planning to the bride-to-be, he’s putting together a list of 150 guests where all his “Carter Clan” accommodate. “I am inviting all of my Carter clan because I love them all dearly,” said the actor during the interview, who plays pub landlord Mick Carter in the BBC soap EastEnders. “Putting the guest list together makes you re-evaluate who your real friends are and most of my closest friends now are from the cast.”
His co-stars (who plays Dyer’s on screen wife Linda), Maddy Hill (Mick’s daughter Nancy), Danny-Boy Hatchard (Mick’s son Lee), Linda Henry (Dyer’s on screen mother Shirley), and Luisa Bradshaw White (Mick’s aunt Tina) will join him on his special day, alongside actor Ray Winstone, a fellow East Ender and West Ham fan.
As Joanne’s dad is from Majorca, the wedding will have a Spanish theme. “There will be a Gypsy Kings-type band, flamenco dancers, tapas, paella and sangria — and I am still working on Julio Iglesias!” Joanne told Hello!
“He is the most cockney person I have ever met but I don’t want him to come dressed as a pearly king. I may get some bubble machines though and insist that everyone sings I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles.”
The 38-years-old actor is a real life Cockney born in Canning Town and a West Ham fan, which is why the couple will also be paying tribute to Danny’s East End roots and his love of West Ham football club on the wedding day.
The childhood sweethearts have three children together: Dani, 19, Sunnie, almost 9, and 2-year-old Arty. Little Arty will be in the role of chief pageboy in the wedding, sporting a tiny matador costume.
The long term partners were engaged since last year after Joanne proposed to Danny on the Valentine’s Day. Their long relationship has survived several obstacles, including Dyer’s past infidelity. They were split up for several years while Danny was having a high-profile romance with Hollyoaks actress Davina Taylor.

“It’s been hard but I’ve got over it,” Joanne told Hello! Magazine last year. “When you have children, it isn’t just about me and Danny. I wouldn’t destroy the lives of my babies for something that doesn’t matter.” Now they are looking forward to planning for the future together.
Speaking at the National TV awards in January this year, where Danny picked the award for his role as Mick Carter in EastEnders, Joanne previously said, “When Danny walks down the aisle he has to serenade me with Hello with the new lyrics, ‘Sorry for all the s*** you’ve put me through’.”
Danny Dyer has also appeared in films such as The Football Factory, The Business, and Doghouse.
