The CW Network renewed 11 of its current series for the 2016/2017 season. Arrow , Crazy Ex-Girlfriend , DC’s Legends of Tomorrow , The Flash , iZombie , Jane The Virgin , The Originals , Reign , Supernatural , The Vampire Diaries , and The 100 have all been renewed according to the press release issued by the CW Network. Even considering the drop in viewership for Reign , Cinema Blend was right in their assumption CW would still renew the show. But for a show like iZombie , renewal was a more concrete option as it has a TV-based audience (with an average season 2 viewership of 1.37 million viewers according to TV Series Finale ) as well as an established comic book fan base.
While iZombiefans are notably excited about this renewal, the cast and crew of the show (which just wrapped filming for season 2) are also very delighted when they heard the news about the season 3 renewal. Many took to Twitter to show their excitement. Rose McIver plays the main character of Liv Moore, the zombie who works in the morgue and helps solve murders and other crimes thanks to her need for brains and the effect those brains have on her. She announced the season 3 renewal of iZombiewith the following tweet:

Her morgue partner in crime, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (played by Rahul Kohli), was so excited he posted a video to Twitter to share the news:

The show’s executive producer, Rob Thomas, was just relieved his cast and crew will have jobs next year. He voiced his relief to TV Insider when the news first broke that iZombie had been renewed for season 3, stating he was now in “great spirits” after the announcement.
As previously reportedon the Inquisitr, season 2 of iZombiewill return on March 22. The official synopsis for Episode 15 of season 2 of iZombieis as follows:
“While investigating the murder of a research scientist who was recently demoted at her job, Liv and Clive are shocked to learn where she had been employed. Meanwhile, Blaine (David Anders) pays Ravi (Rahul Kohli) a visit at the morgue, and Liv discovers something new about Drake (Greg Finley). Lastly, Vaughn du Clark (Steven Weber) confronts Major (Robert Buckley).”
You can view the trailer for Episode 15 below. In this video, Rob Thomas talks about Liv’s crazy new look for the episode. Since Liv has to go undercover at Max Rager, she needs to choose a look that will make her unrecognizable to the people there. This, of course, means that for one whole glorious day of shooting, Rose McIver gets to be… Rose McIver. So, iZombie fans who only know Rose as Liv will be in for a treat with this episode!
