Kanye West and Donald Trump don’t seem like they would have a whole lot to do with one another — that is, until you consider that both are celebrities, entertainers, and businessmen who hope to become president of the United States.
That doesn’t mean that Kanye West and Donald Trump have similar politics though. In fact, far from it. A source recently told Hollywood Life that Kanye believes some of the Donald’s antics to be “cray” — and those antics are encouraging Yeezus to make the leap and put in a bid for the presidency in 2020.
“Kanye’s been cool with Trump, but this insanity at his rallies and some of the stuff that comes out of The Don’s mouth is straight up cray cray,” a source close to ‘Ye told Hollywood Life . “It’s absolutely shocking. It’s motivating Kanye even more to run for President in 2020.”
The Hollywood Life source went on to say that Kanye believes he has the ability to “unify the country” because Yeezy is different and the people are behind him.
“He’s all about love [and] creativity. Whoever is running against him better be prepared in 2020. They’ve never seen anything that’s about to come because the people are on Kanye’s side.”
Kim Kardashian’s husband announced back in September of 2015 that he was planning to run for president during the 2020 election cycle. The announcement came at the MTV VMAs as part of his acceptance speech.
“It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth,” West said during the speech. “And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
Whether or not West was serious about the declaration was unclear, especially after West told the audience that he had “rolled up a little something” to “knock the edge off.”
Soon after West made the announcement, the Democratic Party sent out a tweet welcoming ‘Ye to the 2020 presidential race.

During the 2016 campaign, the Life of Pablo rapper and his wife Kim Kardashian have shown support to Democrat Hillary Clinton in the form of donations and, of course, selfies .
I got my selfie!!! I really loved hearing her speak & hearing her goals for our country! #HillaryForPresident pic.twitter.com/zGpdcGSZBD

Whether or not Kanye is serious about running for president in 2020 remains to be seen, but the idea of Kanye running for president doesn’t seem to want to go away. Could the rapper-turned-fashion designer be serious?
It might be difficult, given his recent declaration via Twitter that he will put out six fashion collections each year and three albums each year. With that much work, it seems as if West would be hard pressed to find the time to campaign.
No more fashion calendar… I’m going Mad Max… 6 collections a year…3 albums a year

Nevertheless, if the Hollywood Life source is to be believed, then Kanye sees something happening around Donald Trump’s rallies that he simply cannot abide by, and if there’s one thing we know about ‘Ye, it’s that he has a hard time staying quiet when he sees something he doesn’t like going on.
What do you think? Do you think Kanye West’s presidential run will come to fruition in 2020? Why or why not? Would you vote for the rapper-turned-fashion designer?
