‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7, Episode 16 Extended Promo: Is Stefan Actually In The Phoenix Stone? Damon Determined To Fix Things

The Vampire Diaries is currently on hiatus and the CW network will not air a new episode of TVD until April 1. There is still a few weeks until season 7, episode 16 airs, but a few details have already been revealed. The extended promo for the episode titled “Days of Future Past” has been released. What can TVD fans expect from Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) as well as Bonnie (Kat Graham), Rayna (Leslie-Anne Huff), Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and the other characters of The Vampire Diaries?

Spoilers Guide published the synopsis for The Vampire Diaries season 7, episode 16. “Days of Future Past” is directed by TVD star Ian Somerhalder. According to the press release, Damon Salvatore will try to make things right with his brother. In order to do so, Damon wants Stefan Salvatore’s scar transferred to him. However, Damon realizes that transferring the scar could have some surprising consequences.

The synopsis for The Vampire Diaries season 7, episode 16 also has Rayna closing in on Stefan. Meanwhile, Valerie (Elizabeth Blackmore) tries to get through to Damon before it is too late. As for Enzo, he tries to clear his name after being framed for busting Rayna out of The Armory. Before he is able to do anything, though, Enzo and Nora (Scarlett Byrne) have a “violent run-in,” which causes Enzo to discover something upsetting.

In the original promo for The Vampire Diaries season 7, episode 16, Damon Salvatore is determined to fix things with his brother. However, Spoiler TV revealed that Rayna has caught up with Stefan Salvatore. Down on his knees, his eyes blinded by the bright sun, Rayna stands over the younger Salvatore brother. She asks if Stefan is ready to let Damon go and Stefan says yes. However, is Stefan really going to let Damon go?

Recently, an extended promo for The Vampire Diaries season 7, episode 16 was released. Additional footage reveals Rayna telling Stefan that letting Damon go is the only way he will be free. Also, Enzo asks why wait until now to release Rayna and Matt (Zach Roerig) replies angrily to ask Stefan.

So, what could possibly happen with the characters on The Vampire Diaries season 7, episode 16? As previously reported by the Inquisitr, TVD character Damon Salvatore continued his dangerous downward spiral. It seems that he continues his maddening storyline, but will fix things once and for all. Remember, The Vampire Diaries was renewed for season 8 and both Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley have reportedly signed new contracts. This means that Rayna will probably be dealt with and the Salvatore brothers will be safe.

As for the younger Salvatore brother, there are TVD fans who believe that Stefan is actually stuck in the Phoenix Stone. That speculation actually makes sense. Even though Stefan and Damon Salvatore have a rocky relationship and always have, the Salvatore brothers always end up helping each other in the end. However, letting Damon go is something that Stefan has always thought about. His (undead) life on The Vampire Diaries would be a lot easier if Damon wasn’t around screwing everything up. The whole situation with Rayna could be Stefan’s personal hell, reliving it over and over again.

As for Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, in “Days of Future Past, he likely won’t have the scar transferred. Even though he is determined to fix things with Stefan, Damon’s brother will never let that happen. Another person on The Vampire Diaries who would prevent Damon Salvatore from getting the scar is Bonnie.

Candice King will not appear as Caroline Forbes in The Vampire Diaries season 7, episode 16. The actress went on maternity leave to have her baby. Speaking to E! Online, executive producer Julie Plec said that Caroline will not be in four episodes total, but would return by the end of season 7. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Plec said that Caroline and Alaric (Matt Davis) will have some big decisions to make. Do they avoid their friends from Mystic Falls, go into hiding with the Gemini twins or can Stefan Salvatore make things right with Caroline by the season 7 finale of The Vampire Diaries?
