The 2016 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards were hosted by Blake Shelton, who had some very special visitors during his opening sketch.
While prepping in his dressing room, Shelton received visits from Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas (the host of the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards), Chewbacca, and his fellow The Voice coaches Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Blake Shelton was beyond excited when he was approached about the hosting gig .
“My agent called and was like, ‘Man, you know, is there anything that you can think of that you’d want to do?’ And I actually had been thinking, ‘I want to host those Kids’ Choice Awards!’ And she was like, ‘Uh, OK…’” Shelton said. “It’s fun,” Shelton added. “And I want to get slimed!”

“I’ve been on countless stages throughout my life, but none have promised the madness, excitement and endless slime as Nick’s Kids’ Choice Awards , which is undoubtedly the ultimate party for kids,” Shelton told People Magazine in November. “There is only one team here, and it’s Team Kids’ Choice so bring it on Nickelodeon!”
Unfortunately, Shelton’s girlfriend Gwen Stefani was unable to attend the awards show, and she took to Twitter to voice her disappointment and try to get help streaming the show in Japan.
