‘Bates Motel’ Spoilers: Norman Bates Blames Norma For Audrey, Blair, And Bradley’s Death — He Flips Out And Accuses His Mother Of Terrible Things
In the Bates Motel season 4, episode 2, entitled “Goodnight, Mother,” Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) loses his grip on reality and accuses his mother of doing unspeakable things. Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) felt blindsided by his accusations and wondered if Norman had another blackout. At first, the scene almost looked like it was a dream sequence; however, AMC confirmed the scene occurs while Norman is awake, and it shakes Norma to the core.
This week on Bates Motel, Norman becomes confused and believes that his mother was the one who killed Audrey Decody (Karina Logue), Bradley Martin (Nicola Peltz), and Blair Watson (Keegan Connor Tracy). He accuses her of not only murdering them in a horrible way, but of trying to pin the murders on him, so he spends the rest of his life in prison. It’s clear that Norman has thought about the consequences of his actions; however, right now, he’s not ready to accept the fact that he was the one who committed the murders. He truly believes that “Mother” was the one who killed the women.
The sneak peek released by A&E revealed that Norman will tell his mother that he doesn’t trust her because she is trying to sabotage him to the police. Apparently, Norma came home and saw Norman attempting to dispose of Audrey’s body, and was horrified by his behavior. Knowing Norma, she would help her son, but it’s becoming more evident that her sweet son is getting worse, and if he isn’t stopped soon he will hurt her.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Norman warns his mother that she should be very scared because she is forcing him to do something he doesn’t want to do. From Norma’s reaction, she believed he felt he was being compelled to hurt her in a way to silence the inner turmoil that seems to be driving Norman. She tries to appeal to Norman and tell him that they can work it out if they just trust each other. It fell on deaf ears as Norman declared war on his extremely scared mother.

In the Bates Motel preview, Norma finds Audrey’s body in the deep freezer in the cellar. After the discovery, Norma believes that more bodies are either buried or somehow in Norman’s possession. Norma begins to snoop around, but catches her son’s eye. Norman corners her and tells her that he needs her to stop sneaking around; after all, he’s just trying to protect her. Norma presses to try to figure out what the danger is, but Norman just tells her to stop sneaking around.
Other Bates Motel spoilers indicate that Dylan (Max Thieriot) will consider a future with Emma Decody (Olivia Cooke). Her lung transplant brought them closer together, and Dylan is ready to take things to the next level. Is it possible that Emma doesn’t want to get serious with him for fear it could upset Norman? Dread Central revealed that Sheriff Romero (Nester Carbonell) made a decision that will impact the Bates family. The Bates Motel spoilers revealed a few months ago that Sheriff Romero would have a love interest that would understand his need to finance Norman’s mental hospital stay at Pine Valley.
According to the Bates Motel spoilers, Sheriff Romero decided not to marry Norma so she’d have insurance for Norman’s psychiatric hospital stay. Instead, he will offer to pay cash, so Norman gets the help he needs. Romero knows that if something happens to Norman, it will destroy her in a way that she may not recover.
