‘Captain America: Civil War’ Rumors: This Major Character Will Die
The latest trailer for Captain America: Civil War just dropped on Thursday, and it was by far, the best one yet. A lot of new footage was shown and it had plenty of fighting and battling and it raised a bunch of questions. Some wonder just who will actually make it to the Avengers: Infinity War two-part finish, but did Marvel actually give away a huge death in the trailer?
Yes, Spider-Man appearing for the first time in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is all the big talk right now, but there is much more.
Now, there are no spoilers in this article. Anything that will be discussed is all that can be seen in the different trailers that have been released to everyone so far.For you to even take part in the reading of this article, the latest Civil War trailer needs to be seen and appreciated for all that it brings to the table.
So, did you happen to catch it?
The scene in the trailer could be stitched together from other scenes, but it certainly appears as if what is going on can be figured out. It appears as if Iron Man and War Machine are flying through the air and doing battle with someone when a giant yellow laser flies through the air.
War Machine, aka James Rhodes, aka Rhodey, doesn’t get hit dead-on by it, but it does clip the front of his suit and destroys his arc reactor. He plummets to the ground from God knows how high up, and is then shown with a bloody face and is motionless.
That is when this scene happens and while the Iron Man suits are meant to protect whomever is wearing them, it’s the power in them that usually works at keeping a blow softer. Rhodey falling from that high up in the air, in a metal suit, with no power at all — it’s very likely that War Marchine could end up dying.Just look at the still-shot from the trailer showing Iron Man holding his friend and War Machine’s arc reactor completely burned out and powerless.
It’s hard to think that Marvel would actually show the death of a major character in the trailer for Captain America: Civil War, but all bets are now off. They want to bring forth just how big and important this movie actually is.
Maybe Rhodey will live through this, but it is highly expected that someone is going to die in Civil War, but rumors have been that someone from Team Cap will bite it.
Yibida reports that the strongest rumors are either Falcon or Scarlet Witch being the major character that ends up dying.Scarlet Witch is indeed seen as a wild card in Civil War just like her brother, Quicksilver, was in Avengers: Age of Ultron. As for Falcon, he’s Captain America’s best friend, as Rhodey is to Iron Man, and either one of those characters’ deaths would up the stakes a lot.
Someone, maybe more than one, is not expected to make it to Avengers: Infinity War, and rumors have been flying for months about it as Cinema Blend reported last year.
Captain America: Civil War is scripted by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), the film stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, Daniel Brühl, and Tom Holland.
Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters on May 6, 2016, but fans are really finding it hard to wait that long. They’re getting even more anxious now that rumors of a major death will happen, but will it really be War Machine? Only time will tell and Marvel fans have less than three months to see who it is.
