WWE Rumors: Final Card For ‘Roadblock’ And Rumored Matches — Three Confirmed Title Matches For Saturday Night
There are just three weeks until WrestleMania 32, but all of the focus within the company and with the fans is on Roadblock. On Saturday night, the three-hour live special is going to air on the WWE Network, and the card is short, but looks good. Three of the four confirmed matches are title bouts and could end up having some effect on the big pay-per-view in early April, and it looks like it could be a fun special.
The main event will have Dean Ambrose attempting to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title from Triple H. Some may think that the conclusion of this match is very obvious considering the main event of WrestleMania 32 is in place and Roman Reigns is set to fight Triple H for it.
While Reigns is expected to return to WWE television next week, there was some talk that Ambrose could defeat Triple H for the title. If that’s the case, Ambrose’s No Holds Barred Street Fight with Brock Lesnar would turn into a WWE Title match.
WWE has done stranger things in the past.
This is the match that everyone thought would happen at WrestleMania 32, but was bumped. Now, it’s going to be a rather brutal and violent battle that will happen at Roadblock, but even Wyatt still wished it was happening in early April as reported by Philly Voice.“Of course I’d rather do it at WrestleMania. Then again, you don’t know what I’m gonna do at WrestleMania. It’s still an open-ended game for me. Like I said, to beat Brock Lesnar right before WrestleMania, you should be owed some kind of spot, some kind of high place – you know, I view myself as a high place player – I’m a serious player in this game and I intend to keep that.”
Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman are scheduled for a WWE Live Event in Atlantic City on Saturday night, so they won’t be there to help Wyatt. Luke Harper is going to likely be around though, and could help outnumber Lesnar.
Yet another feud is expected to continue on to WrestleMania 32 as WWE slowly turns The New Day into babyfaces. It isn’t expected that the WWE Tag Team Titles will change hands on Saturday night, but it will keep the program going. As of now, no Tag Title match is set for the April PPV, but if The New Day does face the League of Nations again, it isn’t known which two members will go after the titles. If Sheamus and King Barrett can’t win this time, Alberto Del Rio and Rusev may attempt at WrestleMania 32.
The Revival has shown their worth as one of the most dominating and awesome tag teams in NXT history. Dash and Dawson have held onto the NXT Tag Titles for quite some time, but fans love Enzo Amore and Big Cass, who are rumored to be called up to the WWE main roster soon. One problem, as the WWE website points out, is that Big Cass is dealing with a left knee injury that could hinder them in Saturday night’s match. No matter what, they’re going to give everything they have in hopes of taking down The Revival.
An edition of Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel is also set to happen at Roadblock, and it could be an interesting one. After Jericho’s second heel turn on AJ Styles on Raw this past Monday, WWE is setting up for Y2J vs. Styles IV at WrestleMania 32, and no one is really going to have any problem with that.Sami Zayn is scheduled to make an appearance at Roadblock after making his official WWE main roster debut on Monday. He may have his first true singles match as a full-time member of the roster, and it will give him more of a feel of things going forward.
Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns had been rumored for quite some time, and it was likely for the WWE Network special, but it’s been squashed.
WWE is really looking to make things interesting and bring forth the “anything can happen” idea with Roadblock happening right before WrestleMania 32. The four scheduled matches look really good, and predictable can be said about WWE quite often, but it’s true that anything is possible.
