Josh Duggar’s New Job: Will He Work With One Of His Sisters?

Josh Duggar has been jobless ever since he lost his high-profile position working for the Family Research Council (FRC) in Washington, D.C., and he’s spent the last six months in a faith-based treatment facility. Josh got tons of negative press after he admitted to sexually molesting his younger sisters and cheating on his wife, but he’s not completely unemployable — his dad, Jim Bob Duggar, might offer him a job working for one of the family businesses.

Josh Duggar’s siblings recently talked to People about how they’re helping their father make money besides appearing on TV, and it seems as though Jim Bob decided to get back into the used car business after 19 Kids and Counting was cancelled. Josh used to run the Duggar Automotive car lot in Springdale, Arkansas, but the Duggar Family Blog reports that he sold the business in 2013 after he scored his cushy position with the FRC. The Duggars are running a new used car business now, and People reports that 21-year-old Jinger Duggar is helping her brothers purchase automobiles to sell.

“My brothers are my advisers,” Jinger said.

According to the Jill & Jessa: Counting On star, she recently began attending automobile auctions with her brothers. Jinger says she was impressed by how much money they were making by buying and reselling used cars.

“I started watching them, and all my little brothers were making a lot of money. I decided to get in on that.”

Josh Duggar has plenty of experience with the used car business, so he might also decide to pick up where he left off now that he’s back in Arkansas. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Josh celebrated his 28th birthday recently, and his parents marked this milestone by sharing a Facebook message reassuring their son that his best days are ahead of him. However, Josh has actually been forced to take a big step backward because of his scandals.

As the executive director of FRC Action, Josh Duggar made easy money attending political events where he spoke out against gay marriage and abortion. TLC protected Josh by making sure not to mention that he was working for a hate group on episodes of 19 Kids and Counting. He and Anna Duggar lived in a nice house in a Maryland suburb, and Josh got to rub elbows with powerful political players like Ted Cruz.

During a 2013 interview with the Washington Post, Josh Duggar hinted that he was toying with the idea of running for political office himself.

“I’m just honored to have the opportunity to serve,” Josh said. “I wouldn’t rule it out in the future.”

Those dreams were immediately dashed when it was discovered that he had sexually molested multiple young girls as a teenager, including four of his own sisters. He was forced to resign from the FRC and return home to Arkansas.

A few weeks later, Josh Duggar’s name was found among the hacked account information of Ashley Madison users. Josh admitted to cheating on Anna Duggar, claimed that he was suffering from an addiction to internet pornography, and checked himself into a Christian recovery program in Illinois called Reformers Unanimous.

On their family website, the Duggars revealed that Reformers wasn’t enough for Josh—his treatment will continue in Arkansas.

“Josh has completed his residential rehabilitation program,” they wrote. “We are so thankful for everyone who worked with Josh in this program. It was a crucial first step in recovery and healing for Josh. Josh has now returned to Arkansas, where he will continue professional counseling and focus on rebuilding relationships with his family. We look to God for help and guidance and place all of our trust in Him. We are forever grateful for the love and prayers offered by so many and hope you will continue to pray in the days ahead.”

Anna Duggar stayed in the girls’ dorm at Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s house while Josh was away. There’s no word on where the couple and their four kids will live now, but perhaps Jim Bob Duggar or Grandma Duggar has been prepping one of the numerous real estate properties that they own for Josh’s family to move into.

People reports that Josh Duggar will not be appearing on Jill & Jessa: Counting On, but this doesn’t mean that TLC money won’t be going into his bank account — Anna Duggar is appearing on the series, and Josh will likely have access to any money that she makes.

In a promo for the show, Anna dropped a hint that she might need just as much professional counseling as Josh by admitting that she’s not being real and acting on her true feelings. She’s seemingly trying to act the way that she thinks others expect her to act and hiding her emotions instead of dealing with them in a healthy way.

“I don’t know what I’m stepping into,” Anna says. “I don’t know how to handle each situation.”

“It’s not anything I ever would have thought I would walk through. [I tell myself,] ‘Just do the next right thing, have the next right response for the next 15 minutes.'”

How do you think Josh Duggar will provide for his family now that he’s back home?
