From Prison To Reality TV: ‘Hot Convict’ Jeremy Meeks Is Heading To Hollywood
Jeremy Meeks’ “piercing gray-blue eyes” and “incredible body” have been his ticket out of prison.
The felon whose mug shot sent the hearts of many women into palpitations last year is now free after serving a year in prison on weapons charges. In a sign of the times, Meeks is ready to turn his viral fame into a lucrative career in entertainment.
Jeremy even inked deals before he went behind bars.
But before the swooning begins, let’s remember that Jeremy Meeks became famous because he committed a federal crime. As ABC News and Hollywood Life recalled, the 32-year-old was arrested in California in 2014 after police found him with a semiautomatic handgun and two extended magazines.
The Stockton Police Department posted Jeremy’s mugshot on Facebook not because he was dreamy, but because it’s standard procedure.
Meek’s picture quickly went viral. Most mugshots aren’t flattering, by Jeremy managed to look hunky in his, helped along by his blue eyes, full lips, structured cheek bones, and an arrogant bad boy expression that just begged to break your heart into a million pieces.
And although the internet was entranced by Jeremy’s sexy picture, they also learned that this arrest in California wasn’t his first. In fact, Meeks had also been convicted of grand theft auto and spent another two years in state prison.
Perhaps this time, the opportunities presented by Jeremy’s quick-fire Hollywood contracts will keep him out of trouble.
The interest in Jeremy and his fortunate good looks was almost instant after his sudden viral fame. Before Meeks settled into his cell at Mendota Federal Correctional Institution, the Hollywood vultures descended upon him, and he signed with two agents, the New York Daily News reported.
Meeks has already set his sights on a reality TV deal. According to People, an agent reported that before he entered prison, Jeremy was being courted by international modeling agencies and “reality-show interests.”
Agent and manager Jim Jordan with White Cross Management in Los Angeles lauded Jeremy’s good looks and potential, noting his “piercing gray-blue eyes, they’re shaped like almonds and he has a beautiful bone structure. He’s 6-feet-1-inches tall, which is the perfect height for a male model, and he has an incredible body. I think Jeremy Meeks is already a supermodel without ever appearing in any magazines.”
Jordan said his phone has been ringing constantly with offers from designers and producers, and Meeks is juggling offers for movies, too.
“We were bombarded by every news media outlet and production company out there. We have huge plans for him. A lot is about to happen. We don’t want to announce it at the moment, but we have some incredible stuff coming that will blow everyone away …There are a multitude of offers on the table. Jeremy is humbled and grateful and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for him and his family.”
During his time behind bars, Jeremy has been looking forward to getting free and seeing his family, but he’s also been prepping for his new career by doing 500 sit-ups and 500 push-ups in his cell every day.
“I eat healthy. I do a lot of push-ups, pull-ups, dips, burpees, and I stay very active,” Meeks said in a previous interview.
But Jeremy isn’t exactly free just yet. He’ll spend a few weeks in transitional housing first before embarking on his new, famous life. On Meeks’ official Instagram account, he posted that he was “looking forward to my time on the lake with my kids” and thanked friends and family for their support during his time in prison.
“I’m overwhelmed and grateful for what lies ahead. I’m ready.”
