Corey Lewandowski: Reporter ‘Roughed Up’ By Donald Trump’s Campaign Manager

Corey Lewandowski , the manager for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, is being accused of “roughing up” a reporter during a press conference in Jupiter, Florida, this week. The incident occurred when Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields tried to ask the Republican front-runner a question. According to a report from The Blaze , Lewandowski forcibly grabbed Fields by the arm and yanked her back, causing her to almost fall to the ground.

Jamie Weinstein, Fields’ boyfriend, wasn’t too happy about the incident and he tweeted the following message not long after the alleged assault occurred.

“Trump always surrounds himself w thugs. Tonight thug Corey Lewandowski tried to pull my gf @MichelleFields to ground when she asked tough q,” Weinstein, a senior editor at The Daily Caller , wrote.

As said in a report from Politico , the security team for Donald Trump’s campaign has been involved in several physical run-ins with the press and protesters during Trump rallies over the past few months. The most recent incident occurred just over a week ago when an agent assaulted Time photographer Chris Morris for documenting “Black Lives Matter” protesters who had been kicked out of an event in Virginia.

Morris was reportedly placed in a choke-hold and then slammed onto a table during a rally in Virginia after he attempted to step outside of the press pen. The incident went viral on social media networks, and the Department of Homeland Security inspector general has now launched an official investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, the incident involving Corey Lewandowski and the female reporter has sparked outraged from many, and Breitbart News CEO and president Larry Solov released a statement calling for an apology from the Trump campaign manager.

“It’s obviously unacceptable that someone crossed a line and made physical contact with our reporter. What Michelle has told us directly is that someone ‘grabbed her arm’ and while she did not see who it was, Ben Terris of the Washington Post told her that it was Corey Lewandowski. If that’s the case, Corey owes Michelle an immediate apology,” Solov was quoted as saying.

Huffington Post wrote that Terris also confirmed to them that he witnessed Lewandowski forcibly grab Fields’ arm, but declined to comment further.

The Trump campaign has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.

It seems that Corey Lewandowski continues his efforts to prevent journalists from covering protesters at Trump events. Lewandowski was even recently accused of threatening Megyn Kelly, a political commentator for Fox News .

“In a call on Saturday with a Fox News executive, [Corey Lewandowski] stated that Megyn had a ‘rough couple of days after that last debate’ and he ‘would hate to have her go through that again,’” a statement from Fox News said. “Lewandowski was warned not to level any more threats, but he continued to do so. We can’t give in to terrorizations toward any of our employees.”

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump, meanwhile, continues his domination in the polls and he regained any momentum lost last weekend against challenger Ted Cruz, sweeping to convincing victories in Michigan and Mississippi, Fox News wrote.

“There’s only one person (who) did well tonight: Donald Trump,” Trump told supporters who gathered at his golf club in Jupiter, Fla. “I hope the Republicans can embrace it,” he added.
