Kim Kardashian Posts Nude Selfie, Bette Midler Shames Her Hard For It

Kim Kardashian has earned a reputation on the internet for fearlessly sharing photos of her nude body whenever she feels like it. Some people praise her for her liberated confidence, others criticize her for trying to get more attention. But at this point, few internet users are surprised to hear that Kim Kardashian is, once again, circulating a sultry image on social media. Even so, one famous Broadway star is getting pretty sick of it.

According to GQ, Kim Kardashian dared to show-off her post-baby body to her 62.4 million Instagram followers this week, uploading a full frontal nude with some black censor bars ensuring she doesn’t violate the platform’s terms of service. It’s only been about three months since Kim gave birth to her son Saint West with her husband Kanye West. You can see the post here, which the proud mother captioned “When you’re like I have nothing to wear LOL.”

GQ pointed out that Kim Kardashian received the usual polarized responses from her nude selfie, but the majority of comments were negative.

“WHY post it,” said one follower.

“She knows exactly what she is doing,” said another. “She breaks the internet here and there to stay relevant.”

“Nothing to wear???” said a third. “U probably have enough money to put clothes on the whole of great britain!”

But according to VH1, the harshest feedback came from a fellow celebrity, although perhaps a celebrity of days gone by. Former Broadway star and Hollywood actress Bette Midler tweeted a response to Kim Kardashian’s latest nude selfie, and it was dripping with contempt. She chose to go after Kim’s apparent need to be “seen” by the world, but found a clever way to say it.

While Kim Kardashian does have a strong fan base, it was clear that most of the internet was on the side of Bette Midler. She received a flood of responses, retweets and praise for her scathing comment.

“@BetteMidler Exactly! Last thing this world needs is ANOTHER damn Kim Kardashian naked selfie.”

“@BetteMidler boom! True words from a classy lady who doesn’t need to post naked photos!”

“@BetteMidler yer the freakin’ best! Now to clean up the water that just came out of my mouth and and onto my desk”

However, some Twitter users stepped in to defend Kim Kardashian, sparking a typical internet argument.

“@BetteMidler wow what a disappointing tweet from you. Why do you care about another woman’s body and what she does with it?” said an unhappy fan named Emily Sears.

“Dear Emily Sears, we are ALL sick of seeing Kim naked! Just goes to show she has nothing more to offer,” responded someone else.

“then, stop looking at it. Natural course of logic, don’t like it, don’t look,” Sears replied.

Despite all the criticism, Kim Kardashian has stayed comfortable in her skin throughout her entire career. Last year, the reality star chose to share a nude selfie of herself while in the middle of her pregnancy, specifically to stand up to body shamers.

“Everyone’s body is different, every pregnancy is very different! I’ve learned to love my body at every stage!” she said.
