Amber Portwood Prepares For Fiance Matt Baier’s ‘Teen Mom OG’ Encounter With Gary Shirley

Amber Portwood and her fiancé, Matthew Baier, will sit down with host Dr. Drew Pinksy and her ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley on tonight’s Teen Mom OG. Ahead of the new episode, the young mom took to Twitter, where she shared a few thoughts.

Amber Portwood, 25, and her 44-year-old fiancé were thrust into the spotlight earlier this year after Shirley confronted her with documents, which reportedly confirmed Baier was the father of seven children, not just two as he had previously claimed. Then, in the weeks that followed, Baier was accused of fathering an eighth child, as well, and old posts on Twitter revealed he had made several harsh comments about Amber Portwood’s co-stars.

Still, on the show and on Twitter, Amber Portwood has stuck by Baier and claims to be doing well.

In early 2014, Amber Portwood’s fiancé was highly active on Twitter with the Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 casts, and before his relationship with Portwood began, Baier attempted to connect with her co-star, Farrah Abraham. It was also revealed that he sent mean tweets to Jenelle Evans and Kailyn Lowry.

Following news of Baier’s alleged secret children, Amber Portwood released a statement.

“There have been many stories and allegations surrounding Matt’s past,” Amber Portwood said in her statement to MTV News. “Just as my own journey has proven, people make mistakes and should be given a second chance without being judged solely on those choices. We are happy and focused on building our future together.”

“[Matt] does only have five kids,” Amber Portwood continued. “I can say that today we’re in a great place. That was a few months ago. Matt still says he has five kids. The thing I always go for me to is if he has five, why the hell wouldn’t he tell me if he has seven?”

In one of the latest reports involving Amber Portwood’s fiancé, Radar Online claimed Baier had hired an attorney to help him face off against women who have filed child support cases against him. According to the outlet, “five women from states including Massachusetts, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota” have filed cases in Indiana, requesting an undisclosed amount of money for their seven total children.

The site also revealed Baier owes a sixth woman, Kelly Maguire Nunn, more than $10,000 in child support for their 8-year-old daughter.

At the end of last month, following weeks of shocking rumors and allegations, Baier silenced rumors of a possible split from Amber Portwood, claiming they will be tying the knot on October 10, surrounded by Amber Portwood’s co-stars, including Farrah Abraham, Catelynn Lowell, and Maci Bookout.

“[Amber Portwood] plans to have her fellow Teen Mom stars in the wedding party,” Baier revealed to Life & Style on February 24. “They are all so close and have been through so much together.”

In addition, Baier revealed, Amber Portwood’s 6-year-old daughter with Shirley would be featured as the flower girl. Shirley will also be in attendance.
