“Dexter” Actress Mabel Pantaleon Found Safe At Airport
Mabel Pantaleon, the actress who disappeared in New York City on Sunday, has been located as she was trying to get on a plane at JFK Airport.
The New York Post reports that missing actress “was attempting to buy a plane ticket when her name popped up on a police database and airline officials notified cops, who came and took her to Jamaica Hospital, according to her brother.”
ABC News further reports that Mabel Pantaleon, 31, was detained by New York Port Authority police last night. “She was in [Port Authority’s] custody on Thursday evening. She was in good condition, and there was nothing suspicious,” said Sgt. John Buthorn of the NYPD.
Various press accounts indicate that Mabel Pantaleon has a history of manic depression, and ABC News suggest that she may have gone off her meds.
In addition to Dexter on Showtime, Pantaleon has also appeared in Mystery ER on the Discovery Network and possiblyCSI (although the latter role does not appear in her IMDB profile).
Family members are understandably relieved, according to the New York Daily News:
“We are very happy that they found her, very happy,” said Felis Pantaleon, 55. Mabel Pantaleon was in good condition, but taken to Jamaica Hospital for evaluation, her dad said.“We still don’t know why she went missing. We are hoping she tells us once she’s better.”
Mabel Pantaleon’s IMDB profile indicates that she was the 2003 second runner up in the Miss Latina New York USA pageant and that she quit a nursing program at the New York City College of Technology to pursue her acting career.
