Lady Gaga To Make Acting Debut In ‘Machete Kills’
Lady Gaga will make her acting debut in Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming film Machete Kills. The Grammy-winning singer will be playing a character named La Chameleón, and even has her own character poster already.
According to Aldamisa Productions, the company behind the film, Machete Kills is the second film in the “Machete” trilogy. The first movie, Machete, started out as a fake trailer in Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 film Grindhouse. The actual film came out in 2010 and starred Danny Trejo as the eponymous character, a former Mexican Federale on a mission to rescue a kidnapped girl.
Trejo reprises his role in Machete Kills, but in this film he is recruited by the President of the United States (played by Charlie Sheen) to stop an arms dealer from launching a deadly missile. The film also stars Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara, Mel Gibson, and Alexa Vega. On June 10, Rodriguez announced that principal filming had begun, and the film is set to be released in 2013.
Not much is known about Lady Gaga’s character, but if her character poster is any indication, La Chameleón is a wolf-fur wearing, gun-wielding blonde killer. And if Rodriguez and Lady Gaga’s tweets have any merit, not only was she good in her role, but filming for the movie was nowhere near a walk in the park for “Mother Monster.”
Rodriguez tweeted,
Attached to the tweet was her character poster:
An hour later, Lady Gaga tweeted,
2013 is going to be a huge year for Lady Gaga, with her new fragrance and a new album set to be released, in addition to her starring in Machete Kills.
What do you think of the poster, and do you think Lady Gaga’s acting debut will be successful or not?
