‘The Bachelor’ Cast-Off Amanda Stanton Reveals Her Kids ‘Have Asked About’ Ben Higgins
Amanda Stanton may have been a fan favorite on this year’s The Bachelor, but that didn’t stop Ben Higgins from sending the mother of two home. Recently, Stanton opened up about her experience.
In an interview with ET, Stanton talked about her decision to introduce Higgins to her two children, Kinsley, 3, and Charlie, 2, during her home visit as part of the last four women remaining. It was during the rose ceremony following the home date that Stanton was sent home.
“It was kind of a weird situation, and if I could go back, I would have probably done it a little bit different for sure,” Amanda revealed about her children spending time with Higgins on the beach. “I just explained that this is my good friend, and I had been away for a few weeks, so it was kind of a weird situation.”
Apparently Higgins made quite the impression on not only Stanton but her kids as well.
“You know, they really had a good time with him and they adored him,” Amanda said. “And they have seen him on TV since then, and they are like, ‘That’s our friend’… which is really cute but it wasn’t, like, a huge deal. It wasn’t like he was in our lives for months and then suddenly disappeared.”
“Regardless, it is hard,” she continued. “And I think it was harder for me just because it was something I had never done before, and I was really opening up to him by introducing him to my kids and showing him that side of me. I think it was a little harder for me than it was for [my children] just because they meet people every day.”However, despite saying that she would’ve done things a bit different, in an interview with Us Weekly, Stanton said that she was happy with how she introduced her kids to Higgins, adding that the little tykes have mentioned Higgins since his visit to the beach. “They’ve asked about him,” Stanton said. “My kids are the friendliest kids ever. I’ve never introduced a guy to my kids before. But I also introduced Ben in a very friendly way. We didn’t kiss in front of them — we didn’t even really hug in front of them.”
It was Stanton’s two kids that led to fellow Bachelor housemate Olivia Caridi to compare Stanton’s life to an episode of Teen Mom. But Life and Style says that although the comment was hurtful for Stanton, an unexpected apology made by Olivia during the upcoming Tell All episode, put things to rest.
“It was more than I expected out of her,” Amanda told Us Weekly. “I was happy with it. At the end of the day, everybody is entitled to their own opinions, and not everybody is going to have the same idea of being a mom or being a single mom as I do.”
As Stanton’s life goes on without Higgins, a possible TV role in The Bachelorette isn’t that far fetched. But Wet Paint reveals that when it comes being on another TV show, she remains cautious.“I kind of think I just want to meet a guy the normal way, and I think especially with my kids getting older — and my oldest is starting school — I don’t know if I want our lives in such the public eye,” she says. “I think keeping our lives a little bit more private from here on out is probably a better decision.”
Well, Amanda will have the opportunity to meet a guy the normal way, because fellow Bachelor cast-off Caila Quinn has been confirmed as the next star of The Bachelorette.
