Blake Shelton Feuding With Gwen Stefani’s ‘Diva’ Replacement Christina Aguilera On ‘The Voice’ [Report]

The drama between Blake Shelton and Christian Aguilera heated up during the Season 10 premiere of The Voice. Their feud centers on the fact that Aguilera replaced Shelton’s girlfriend Gwen Stefani on the show. With Stefani not returning as a judge this year, Shelton is allegedly taking out his frustrations on Aguilera.

An inside source explained to Radar Online that Shelton is not happy about Stefani’s exit after Season 9. With him and Aguilera squabbling with each other, Shelton is apparently taking aim at Aguilera in order to get Stefani back in a future season.

“It’s his mission to make this as uncomfortable as possible for her so that she will not want to return next season,” the insider shared.

This is not the first time Shelton has expressed his disapproval with Stefani’s departure. When it was first announced that Stefani would not return as a judge in Season 10, Shelton threatened to leave the series entirely. Fortunately, his threats were not serious and producers wanted nothing more than for Shelton to remain on the show.

“The execs knew that Blake was bluffing, thankfully,” the source added. “This is such a huge source of income for Blake and America loves him, so they came up with a plan to bring Gwen back on as a mentor on Blake’s team.”

Part of the show’s success last season was because of Shelton’s on-air romance with Stefani. Fans tuned in to see their relationship blossom on the show, which is one reason why so many were disappointed about Stefani’s exit.

For her part, Aguilera has been her same old self this season, despite Shelton’s attitude towards her. In fact, a source revealed to Radar Online that Aguilera frustrated producers during a promo shot when “she showed up late and acted like she owned the shoot.” Apparently, this is only the tip of the iceberg as Aguilera continues to do her own thing rather than follow producers’ advice.

“Christina insisted on wearing her own wardrobe and using her own hair and make-up team,” the source stated. “She just would not take any direction for the shoot and wanted it to center around her. And so it did.”

As far as the other judges are concerned, the source added that Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams are not speaking out against her. Instead, the two are trying their best to stay out of the feud between Aguilera and Shelton to prevent further arguments.

Meanwhile, Us Magazine is reporting that Aguilera is getting back into the swing of things following her short break from the entertainment world. In speaking about her upcoming season, Aguilera is confident that her team will come out on top.

“My team is the one to beat!” she told the outlet. “We are all really competitive. The boys keep trying to steal my singers in the battle rounds! Adam is like a used-car salesman. But I feel confident.”

Along with her appearance on The Voice, the singer is teaching online singing classes. Her courses can be found on Master Class, which includes a number of different tutorials from professionals in various fields.

“I teach about pitch, breath control and how to duet with a partner in a song like Say Something,” she shared.

With Aguilera clearly willing to get back to work, there is a lot of uncertainty if she will want to step down as a judge next season. This is likely why Shelton is taking a hard stance against her as he clearly wants to see Stefani back in a judge’s seat next season.

The current season of The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC.
