Donald Trump Condemned By Republican Security Leaders In Open Letter, GOP Leaders Rebuke Trump As Bad For America
It’s official: The Republican establishment really doesn’t want Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States.
The latest group to pile on the anti-Donald bandwagon is a group of Republican national security leaders who have written an open letter warning America of the dangers of a Trump presidency.
The letter, published by War on the Rocks, is signed by more than 100 Republican national security leaders, and the list continues to grow as more supporters add their names.
“We have disagreed with one another on many issues…But we are united in our opposition to a Donald Trump presidency.”

The group of Republicans condemns Trump for everything from his hateful anti-Muslim comments to his call for a wall on the border with Mexico.
“His vision of American influence and power in the world is wildly inconsistent and unmoored in principle.”
They decry Trump’s support for torture and his call for trade wars with our military allies in this globally-connected world.
“Not all lethal conflicts can be resolved as a real estate deal might, and there is no recourse to bankruptcy court in international affairs.”
Calling many of Donald’s public political statements inexcusable, the group of security leaders condemn Trump’s foreign policy stance along with his admiration for foreign dictators like Vladimir Putin.
“Mr. Trump’s own statements lead us to conclude that as president, he would use the authority of his office to act in ways that make America less safe, and which would diminish our standing in the world.”
The group of Republicans rebuke The Donald as fundamentally dishonest and accuse him of acting more like a racketeer than the next leader of the free world.

The open letter was coordinated by Dr. Eliot A. Cohen, the former Counselor of the Department of State, and Bryan McGrath, the managing director of The Ferry Bridge Group, a defense consultancy.
They encourage other Republican national security leaders to join them by adding their names to the list of signatories, and the list of names continues to climb. By sitting on the page and refreshing it every few minutes, the reader can watch the list of Trump detractors grow.
“His expansive view of how presidential power should be wielded against his detractors poses a distinct threat to civil liberty in the United States.”
Several comments on the site back the security leaders’ bad opinion of Trump, but interestingly enough, some even condemn any Republican president as contrary to our national interests.

They point to a 12-year-long poll conducted by the Pew Research Center that shows citizens of foreign countries, even our allies, have more faith in a Democrat as president than a Republican.
The Republican security leaders who wrote the open letter to Trump is only the latest group to condemn The Donald. On Thursday, the anti-tax group Club for Growth Action introduced a $1.5 million campaign ad condemning Trump as a horrible businessman who was repeatedly forced into bankruptcy.
Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican nominee, blasted Trump as bad on foreign policy and a poor choice for president during a speech Thursday. Romney condemned Donald’s behavior during the campaign as third-grade theatrics.
