James Holmes: Hey, How Did ‘Dark Knight Rises’ End?
James Holmes is seemingly doing his best to remove all doubts and “allegedly’s” that he was the shooter in the Aurora, Colorado Dark Knight Rises murders. In a chilling and monstrous move, Holmes reportedly asked a jail worker nonchalantly how The Dark Knight Rises ends.
“Did you see the movie?” Holmes asked a stunned jail worker during a bizarre exchange Tuesday. “How does it end?” Those were the two questions that nearly got a confused and sincere-looking Holmes slapped by the jail employee for his lack of empathy or concern, reports NY Daily. According to the employee, Holmes repeated the question after he was ignored, his voice flat and his eyes glazed.
The 24-year-old accused killer of 12 at the Aurora premiere of The Dark Knight Rises “was trying to look like he was sincerely curious,” said a witness to the bizarre events. “Like he had no idea why there was anything wrong with what he was saying. It was sick … I think he’s trying real hard to act crazy.”
“If he said that to me, it would have been real hard to resist smacking him,” said the worker.
Holmes is allegedly a Batman fan, as he had a Batman poster in his bedroom, told his arresting officer that he is “The Joker,” and even dyed his hair red in an effort to imitate Batman’s greatest villain (though we, as well as the Huffington Post, feel it necessary to point out that Joker’s hair is actually green, not red).
Despite all that, Holmes only watched about 30 minutes of The Dark Knight Rises before leaving the theater to retrieve his equipment and weapons, thereafter executing the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, killing 12 and injuring more than 50.
Holmes’ behavior since his arrest has been characterized as erratic, strange, and even violent. In a bit of news that will make Holmes-haters happy, he’s been fitted with a plastic mask to prevent him from spitting on guards.
Maybe they should leave it on him at all times to shut him up, too.
