Robert Pattinson Admits Insecurity, Claims ‘Twilight’ Fans Have A Certain Image Of Him And His Relationship With Kristen Stewart

The Twilight series had profound effects on Robert Pattinson’s life. Not only did the hit franchise launch Pattinson into stardom, but it also marked a time of significant change for the actor. In fact, Pattinson recently opened up about how Twilight has impacted his career in the movie industry and how fans still view him through the lens of Edward.

According to Celeb Buzz, Pattinson’s revelations about his struggles came during an interview with the French magazine Numéro Homme. For starters, Pattinson talked about his need to prove himself and how fans still see him as the actor from Twilight.

“I imagine the audience kept a certain image of me,” Pattinson stated. “I always feel like I have to prove myself. I did not have enough lead roles to make the people forget about it or to see me any differently. Waiting for that, I follow my path, with the constant reminder to diversify myself.”

Pattinson admitted that his life during the Twilight series was especially “chaotic” and that it took a long time for him to adjust to the new level of fame. Although he has managed to build up his career in Hollywood, Movie Pilot is reporting that Pattinson still struggles with insecurity.

“I still have lots of doubts about myself. The people I work with know this. Three weeks before filming, I just panic and call my family or friends telling them I will never be able to do it. At that moment I really think it is the truth,” he revealed. “My confidence leaves me, reduced in tatters. And then it is back when I enter the set. Even knowing this, the next time, it happens again.”

Part of Pattinson’s insecurity lies in what people say online, especially in the social media sphere. In fact, this is one reason why Pattinson keeps away from having a Twitter account, although he did admit that he peruses Twitter every once in a while to see what people are saying.

“Sometimes I would like to and I would like to have a Twitter account to do so. But I know I would spend too much time on it,” he shared. “I would lose myself into it all night long. Nevertheless, I hope to avoid this kind of life. It is the reason why I don’t sign up!”

Meanwhile, another part of Pattinson’s Twilight days was his relationship with Kristen Stewart. With the on-screen couple taking their romance outside of work, many fans have had a hard time letting go of the notion of them being together. This is one of the many things that continues to haunt Pattinson as the actor attempts to move forward with his life and career.

While both Stewart and Pattinson have moved on since their highly publicized breakup in 2012, Celeb Dirty Laundry is reporting that things aren’t going so well between Pattinson and his new fiancée, FKA Twigs. With that in mind, are their further wedding delays in their future?

As fans are well aware, Pattinson and the British singer have suffered through multiple delays in their plans to get hitched. Now, it appears as though Pattinson is unwilling to go through with the ceremony unless Twigs agrees to invite Stewart to the wedding. Given Pattinson’s past history with Stewart, it is understandable why Twigs is hesitant to invite her.

Twigs and Pattinson have been engaged since last year and were expected to tie by the end of last summer. When that didn’t happen, multiple rumors began to circulate about the status of their relationship. Considering Pattinson’s latest demands, it is unclear when the two will finally go through with their wedding.
