WWE Rumors: Dean Ambrose Vs. Brock Lesnar At ‘WrestleMania 32’ Could Be For WWE Title
The top three matches for WrestleMania 32 are set and in place with many others to come in the following month. Even though things seem cemented in place, there is always the possibility that changes could be made, and the same is rumored for this year. Triple H is set to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Roman Reigns, but what if that doesn’t happen? What if the “Street Fight” between Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar is for the WWE Title?
That scenario may not be as far-fetched as you may think.
On Monday Night Raw two weeks ago, Roman Reigns was beaten up and left bloodied at ringside. Triple H did a number on him, and it was revealed the next day that Reigns need to have surgery to fix him up.
In reality, he had a deviated septum and some other nose issues that were already there and he needed surgery to fix them. Reigns didn’t appear on Raw this week, and there is still a month for him to totally recover. But what if he doesn’t?

On this week’s Monday Night Raw, Dean Ambrose was confronted by Triple H and it led to the “Lunatic Fringe” challenging him for the WWE Title. As recapped by WWE‘s website, Triple H originally laughed and balked at the idea, and left it at that.
At the end of Raw, Ambrose took on Alberto Del Rio and was eventually jumped by the entire League of Nations as Triple H came out. Ambrose jumped Triple H, but was soon overpowered and received a Pedigree for his annoyance.
After that, Triple H accepted Ambrose’s challenge for a WWE Title match. WrestleZone confirmed that a date for the match has not yet been set, but it is rumored to take place at Roadblock, the live WWE Network special airing on March 12.It’s kind of odd that WWE would start a feud in the middle of the Road to WrestleMania 32 with one person each from two other programs.
That’s what WWE is doing right now, and it kind of makes sense. Roman Reigns just had surgery, so Triple H has nothing to do. Brock Lesnar is on the reduced schedule as usual and that give Dean Ambrose nothing to do.
Still, it’s weird. Making it even stranger is putting the WWE Title on the line, but they wouldn’t have it change hands and go to Dean Ambrose…would they?
Ringside News is reporting that Taz and Mike Johnson (of PW Insider) were talking about the whole situation and the injury to Reigns. Apparently, WWE is already planning for the worst possible scenario and has a “Plan B” in place if Reigns can’t return in time for the big PPV in April. It seems as if “Plan B” actually has Ambrose winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title from Triple H at Roadblock. From there, WWE would turn the No Holds Barred Street Fight between Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar into a WWE Title match and make it the main event.
Believe it or not, that is actually not a bad alternate plan.
Honestly, this actually sets up post-WrestleMania 32 storylines better than the matches that are currently in place. If Roman Reigns can’t go at WrestleMania 32 and Ambrose holds onto the WWE Title, then it could lead to a heel turn for the former member of The Shield. Not Ambrose, but Reigns.
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin recently said that Reigns’ poor reaction from the fans isn’t his fault, and that it is because he needs to have a major heel turn first. If he has that, then his face-turn will mean even more and fans will accept him for it.
Reigns seeing Ambrose win the WWE Title and then standing tall in the main event of WrestleMania could bring about sour feelings. Boom…there’s the next feud for the WWE Title once Reigns returns from injury and goes full-on heel.
It really could work well.
The main event of WrestleMania 32 is still Triple H vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Title, but only at this time. If Reigns can’t return in time, this side-feud between Trips and Dean Ambrose may end up in a title change and the “Lunatic Fringe” defending his newly won belt against Brock Lesnar in their Street Fight. Lot of “ifs,” but interesting ones.
