Joey Feek Cancer Update: How Much Time Does She Actually Have Left?

The world has been following along with Rory Feek and his blog that details the everyday life of his wife, Joey Feek. More so, though, they are following her cancer battle and wondering how things are going, how their kids are doing, and, honestly, how much time she actually has left. As she’s fallen into a “deep sleep,” it doesn’t appear as if there is much time left at all.

On The Life I Live, Rory wrote how things do appear to be coming to an end and that her time to fight is almost over. As God gives us each a life that is limited, Rory says that his wife has done the things in hers that she has wanted to do.

“There are no do-overs, no second-chances, no next-time-around’s to get it right. Joey knew this and she has made each and every day count. One of the last things Joey said before she drifted into the deep sleep she’s been in for a few days now is, ‘I have no regrets… I can honestly say, that I have done everything I wanted to do and lived the life I always wanted to live’.”

Joey Feek’s most recent goal came at the end of 2015 when her “cancer update” battle included getting through February. She has made it past that goal now, but it certainly appeared as if she knew how much time she truly had left, as her goal wasn’t loftier.

On February 29, 2016, Rory Feek wrote his most recent blog post and said that his 40-year-old wife had just days to live “at most.” That is why she told her final goodbyes to her family and friends and gave one last kiss to the couple’s daughter, 2-year-old Indiana Feek, as ABC 13 reported.

No one thought she was going to make it this far. No media outlets or experts believed she would last almost two full years from the time of her cancer diagnosis back in May of 2014.

Back in November, doctors at a hospital in Muncie, Indiana, said that Joey Feek’s cancer tumors were growing and became inflamed. It was then that her pain was growing by the day, and no one thought she would be able to continue on much longer.

That was almost four months ago, and now, her time has almost come. Rory Feek said that his wife has lived “a very full life.”

Rory also wrote about memories such as their time together in Las Vegas when they attended the Academy of Country Music Awards a few years ago. He encouraged Joey to go up to George Strait and say hello, and it ended up being such a special moment for him.

A special moment for him. Not for her.

“She didn’t just want to meet her hero, she wanted to earn his respect and meet him then, only then. She wanted to meet him ‘the right way’, or not meet him at all. I love that about her.”

The world has followed along with the careers of Joey and Rory Feek, and now they have followed along with the cancer battle that Joey has gone through. Rory went on to thank every single person who has followed along on his “wife’s beautiful journey.”

So many people have loved the life that Joey Feek has lived. So many people have followed along on her journey and learned more about her in the last year and nine months than they ever thought would be revealed.

Fans have seen pictures and read along as Joey Feek has gone on this portion of her life that is ending far too soon. On Valentine’s Day, Rory wrote how the couple had one last loving holiday together and got to cuddle, something they had not done in a long time.

It appears as if it will be any day now that Joey Feek will take her last breath in this life and take her first one in Heaven. Her husband, Rory Feek, stays by her side as she has fallen into a “deep sleep” and is calm knowing his wife’s life wishes have been fulfilled and she is at peace.
