Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar Pic With Tom Hardy: Hardy’s iPhone Case Has ‘Smouldering’ Photo Of Himself
Hollywood’s biggest night came with a few super exciting surprises, but some of the best moments were unplanned and impromptu. Recent Oscar-winner and all-round amazing guy Leonardo DiCaprio, 41, was grabbed by his Revenant costar and friend Tom Hardy for a superstar super-selfie. Hardy wasn’t about to pass up an opportunity to get a selfie with world-renowned superstar and recently recognized Academy Award winner Leonardo. The two larger than life action heroes and dramatic bad-boys filled up the show with their personalities and filled up the screen with their set of selfies. It’s hard for Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy to not take a great picture.

According to Hollywood Life, Leonardo and Tom, two world-class actors, made a beeline for each other on the red carpet. The February 28 event was chock full of famous personalities, but according to OK! magazine, DiCaprio and Hardy were clearly more interested in fostering a bromance than galavanting around the Oscars. The 2016 installment of the annual award ceremony and film celebration even saw Tom’s wife, Charlotte, get in on some DiCaprio photoshoot action. When the groups met, Hardy just couldn’t resist capturing the moment with DiCaprio.

Both DiCaprio and Hardy were up for Oscars for the blockbuster masterpiece film The Revenant. Leonardo was up for Best Actor, while Tom was up for Best Supporting Actor. Oscars night started off strong with such great personalities as Leonardo and Tom meeting up and having fun. However, the night ended even stronger with the end of what had become a bit of a cultural phenomenon: DiCaprio’s Oscar was the first one of his amazing career. One Twitter user found a lot of inspiration in Leonardo’s Oscar, suggesting that if Leonardo DiCaprio waited years for an Oscar, the rest of us can get through Monday.
Nobody needed to tell most of us that DiCaprio deserved an Oscar for his years of incredible acting, but it seems to have taken the Academy a little while to pick up on the fact. Hardy himself was up for Best Supporting Actor for The Revenant, but was not as fortunate as his Leonardo in actually winning an Oscar for it. He was, however, certainly super excited for his friend and colleague’s Oscar win. So were DiCaprio’s devoted fans!
Still SO EXCITED about Leonardo DiCaprio getting that Oscar…and saw clips of him being sassy about it later. Love him.

Hardy wasn’t just involved in one big-winning project last year. Mad Max: Fury Road, which Tom starred in as the titular character, won a grand total of six Oscars this year. Music, cinematography and a host of other Oscars went to the action film, and we’re sure it was in no small part thanks to Hardy’s excellent performance as Mad Max (replacing the infamous Australian actor Mel Gibson in the role) that the film was so well received.
Leonardo got to show his signature humility and passion for his work during his Oscar speech and later told Robin Roberts that he feels “blessed” to have worked on The Revenant, and he is “particularly proud” of the film.
“The truth of the matter is I just feel blessed to be able to do movies like this. I’ve worked for almost 25 years in this industry and here I am representing a movie that I feel so particularly proud of…This is the big show. After years and years of hard work this is the end of it all. It’s bittersweet as well.”
It can be safely said that fans of the legendary DiCaprio are overjoyed at the award, and Leonardo himself is excited. DiCaprio’s already formidable legacy was certainly already admirable and storied, but a little Oscar recognition from the Academy hardly hurts!
