Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck Reunite At Oscars After Party — All The Details
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner reunited for a post Oscars party, but it wasn’t exactly a big romantic run-in.
According to People, Ben and Jennifer both attended the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscars Party following the 88th Annual Academy Awards on February 28, but allegedly kept their distance from each other after a brief hello.
According to a People insider who saw Affleck and Garner together inside the Oscars party, Ben and Jennifer “shared a friendly hug and a kiss” when they ran into each other at the Vanity Fair Oscars event, where Garner even appeared to “compliment [Ben’s] look,” according to the source.
“They had a nice moment where they caught up and a lot of their friends were there – and they chatted and then they left,” People‘s Vanity Fair Oscars Party source revealed, confirming that the Affleck and his estranged wife didn’t spend much more time together at the Oscars event after their cordial greeting.
The source told People that Jennifer and Ben “parted ways” after their brief meeting, and added that Garner then went on to spend most of the evening with friends Victor Garber and J.J. Abrams, who accompanied her to the post Oscars party.

Garber even spoke out about Ben and Jennifer to Entertainment Tonight on the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscars Party red carpet prior to the Oscars after party, where he admitted that Garner was “dealing with a lot of stress and pain” since splitting with Ben last year.
“[She’s] dealing with it in, I think, a magnificent way,” Garber added to the site of her split from Affleck at the Oscars event on February 28.
“I’ve always found her to be incredibly authentic. It’s part of why people, I think, are drawn to her, because she is real,” Victor continued of Garner on the Vanity Fair Oscars red carpet. “She also has a great capacity for love. You know, her [and Ben’s] children are her passion. And so, all that said, she’s dealing with the situation, I think, miraculously.”
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are certainly no strangers to the Oscars, and the big show’s after parties, having attended the prestigious awards show together numerous times since they married in 2005.
However, Ben and Jennifer, who have three children together, announced that they planned to divorce in June, 2015.
“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” Jennifer and Ben said in a joint statement issued to People last year, adding that they were still dedicated to parenting their children, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 4, together.
But despite their impending divorce, Affleck and Garner’s Oscars meet-up comes just days after Ben’s estranged wife opened up about the couple’s split in a very candid interview for the March issue of Vanity Fair.
“I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him,” Jennifer said of Ben in the magazine earlier this month, adding that she “would go back and remake that decision” if she were able to marry Affleck it all over again.
“I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had,” Garner continued of Affleck in the magazine, even describing Ben as “the love of [her] life.”
Following the bombshell interview hitting shelves this week, Jennifer’s Oscars date Victor Garber was quizzed on whether or not Ben Affleck has read the interview by Entertainment Tonight, to which he simply replied “I imagine he has.”
“I saw [Ben Affleck], but I haven’t talked to him about it. So, I hope he’s okay,” he said at the Oscars party.
