Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell Talk X-Factor

Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell, and L.A. Reid took some time to meet with the press, talking up the new season of X-Factor on Fox.

Mere hours after Cowell’s former show, American Idol, announced that Mariah Carey would be its newest judge, the judges for the revamped X-Factor took time out of their “boot camp” taping to answer questions, reports USA Today.

Spears was quick to talk about her relationship with Cowell, saying that they share a make up artist. She also talked about how the decision to judge on the show “made sense.” for her career. Spears commented that:

“I adore Simon and it was something I really wanted to do.”

It seems that Cowell returns the sentiments too, as he stated:

“I was fascinated with her as a person, as a pop star, and there’s something intriguing about her. And she’s a really good judge.”

Simon Cowell also spoke about Britney Spears’ co-worker, Demi Lovato, saying:

“Demi is a brat. But there’s something likable about her. Britney’s quite mean, as you’ll discover.”

Reuters reports that Britney Spears, according to Cowell, is “as sweet as a lemon” in the show, as we’ve been able to see during early promotions, when the pop singer tells contestants things like, “You can’t destroy that song, sweetie,” “predictable,” and “I want to know who let you on stage.”

When asked about her decision to join the X-Factor, Britney Spears told reporters:

“I have done eight tours and I have been in the music industry for a while, and I think being able to give back is really interesting.”
