Chelsea Lorson: Teacher’s Aide With Alleged STDs Accused Of Having Sex With Students

A Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, teacher’s aide who reportedly has two sexually transmitted diseases is accused of having sex with two high school students.

New York Daily News reports that Chelsea Lorson, 25, a teacher’s aide at a Lewisburg Area High School, allegedly had sex with two brothers. She started working at the high school in January, and within a short time, she had sex with one student, then slept with his little brother, according to the news report.

Loren has two sexually transmitted diseases, according to what her doctor told her, although the exact diseases she has isn’t yet known. She found out about the STDs when she returned from a trip to Haiti and visited her physician after bouts of feeling ill.

According to the Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department, Lorson was arrested on Wednesday and charged with statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, recklessly endangering another person, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and institutional sexual assault.

Penn Live reports that the relationship with the students started with Facebook messages exchanged after school hours. On January 20, Lorson allegedly told the older brother that she wanted to come over to hang out. A little over a week later, on January 28, the teacher’s aide reportedly had sex with both students.

Lewisburg Superintendent Mark DiRocco wrote that as soon he heard of the accusations, he removed Lorson from working anywhere in the school district.

“I contacted the Intermediate Unit as soon as we received notice of the allegation, and the employee was immediately removed from performing any more work in the Lewisburg Area School District and the Intermediate Unit.”

DiRocco also wrote that Lorson had only been at the school for a few months, but the alleged sexual activities happened off of school grounds.

“The individual had been working at the high school for a short time and in a limited capacity. The alleged inappropriate activities occurred off school property during non-school hours.”

A co-worker who serves as a mandated reporter for the high school interviewed Lorson, and the teacher’s aide said that one of the sexual acts took place in the brothers’ driveway, inside a vehicle. Lorson admitted she had sex with the younger student as a birthday gift for him.

The reporter immediately called Pennsylvania’s 24-hour child protection hotline, ChildLine, and repeated what Lorson said. The Union County Children and Youth organization then notified the police.

According to Lorson’s Facebook profile (now deleted), she’s married with two children. Prior to working at the Lewisburg Area High School, she worked as a classroom assistant with the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit, as well as a classroom assistant for the Williamsport YMCA Childcare Center.

Meanwhile, DiRocco is focusing on reassuring the parents of children who attend schools in the district that the matter is taken seriously. He wrote that the primary focus is on student safety, and the district is working with authorities while the investigation continues.

“Our primary concern is for the well-being of the students and we will work to ensure that they are supported. Buffalo Valley Regional Police and Union County Children and Youth Services have been investigating the matter. The district and the Intermediate Unit are cooperating with all the agencies and the family involved in the investigation.”

Some parents are understandably upset, including Brady Hall, who said he moved his children to the Lewisburg area because of its stellar reputation and high test scores.

“We just moved from Milton to Lewisburg two years ago to have our kids come here, from Milton School District, just because it’s third in the state in public school district.”

Chelsea Lorson made her $25,000 bail and is currently free while awaiting her first court hearing.
